Michael C. Fina Selected For Custom China Service For USS NEW YORK

michaelcfinalmarketing.jpg

Michael C. Fina has been selected to create the china service for the new U.S. Navy ship, USS NEW YORK. The ship, built with 7.5 tons of steel from the fallen World Trade Center in its bow, is to be commissioned in New York City on November 7th.

The special china service was commissioned by the ship's sponsor, Mrs. Dotty England. Traditionally, the sponsor of each U.S. Navy ship presents a personal gift to the ship and its crew, which can range from books to paintings. Mrs. England chose an exclusive and uniquely designed set of china for USS NEW YORK. Mrs. England said, "This magnificent ship is not only named for a great State, it honors the thousands who were killed or injured on September 11, 2001 and the sacrifice and heroism of all those who came to their rescue."

Firenze Jewels' Website Redesign Pushes Online Diamond Shopping to New Horizon

Firenze Jewels, Inc. proudly unveiled the first phase of a significant redesign to their website www.FirenzeJewels.com this week. Re-built from the ground up, the focus throughout the year-long project was to provide buyers with a fresh online shopping experience that was easy and intuitive. The makeover has already garnered positive feedback from new clientele as well as their core base of repeat customers. "The site was designed with the customer in mind, providing guidance and vivid imagery at every step so they make the right decision," says Gabrielle Guzman, E-Commerce Director at Firenze Jewels.

Presenting and managing their ever-growing inventory of 3,500+ customizable pieces and 30,000+ certified loose diamonds was one of the jeweler's biggest challenges. With advanced internet technology, customers can now sort through these in "real-time" effectively helping a shopper find exactly what they were looking for. This ensures a smooth transaction for both parties.

Among other distinct features on the website is a virtual loupe. Going beyond the standard zoom and enlarged photos seen on most e-commerce sites, the feature allows a shopper to inspect every detail on a diamond piece at various angles. In some cases, it lets one see details you normally couldn't even if you viewed it with the naked eye in person.

With the economy in flux, the move comes after the longtime New York Diamond District jeweler looks to strengthen its presence in the diamond market online. Competing against other giants at various ends of the spectrum such as Tiffany & Co., Zales and .com retailer BlueNile, Firenze Jewels' strategy for further success remains the same; extending their vast collection of signature designer pieces, world renowned NY Diamond District value, and personal family touch to a wider audience.

Diamond Ideals Restores Confidence in Online Shopping

Diamond Ideals recently produced what I like to call, “the guys guide to buying ice.”

We all know that men are no strangers to online shopping. But, when it’s time to purchase the most important and life-changing item of their lives – the engagement ring – they may need a little guidance on choosing the ring that makes the grade.

Just in time for the spring wedding season, Diamond Ideals created must-have tips to arm all guys with the necessary information to choosing the perfect piece of bling for brides-to-be when shopping online. In fact, buying engagement rings online is proving to be more beneficial than buying it in a brick-and-mortar store. Choosing an engagement ring goes way beyond the cut, color and clarity.

Tiffany & Co. Jewelry Growing Profits a Sign of an Economic Recovery?

Last quarter we heard many echo the sentiment that the economic downturn was finally coming to an end. While fourth quarter numbers began to come in, it appears there is indeed light at the end of the tunnel. At least that is the feeling I get after hearing the increase in sales that Tiffany & Co. experienced at the tail end of 2009. When luxury brands begin to see profits again, there is usually that collective sigh of relief heard throughout the country knowing that consumers are once again opening their wallets for non-essential items. (Although whose to say anything in those little blue boxes are not essential?)

Anna Beck Jewelry PR Brand Profile

It may sound like an American brand, but each piece of Anna Beck jewelry is made with love in Bali. Far and exotic, the handmade line offers an different and unique touch to every day looks. Created in 2003 by Becky Hosmer, who began designing jewelry for her own personal use while traveling throughout the world. Her pit stop in Bali soon turned permanent, as Becky learned the local jewelry techniques. Anna Beck quickly gained popularity and soon became available in high-end boutiques across the United States.

Bony Levy Jewelry PR Brand Profile

As Nordstrom’s exclusive jewelry designer, Bony Levy understands contemporary luxury. His ten year industry experience has given Bony diamond knowledge beyond karats, which he proves within his designs. Nordstrom Carriere Jewelry by Bony Levy is the exclusive Nordstrom brand, and Bony has created designs that stand out from the pack. The brand mixes elegant and casual by using diamonds in unexpected ways.

Simplicity plays a large part in Bony’s design element and that ultimately makes the line the perfect companion to practically any get-up. The Flower Stack ring, which features three layers of diamond ring bling, combines fashion-forward thinking with an everyday approach. We love how easy the ring would pair with a pair or jeans or an evening gown. The fine jewelry line is, as expected, on the expensive side, with the line starting at $400. The line also features a bridal collection, promising bling until death do us part. If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, we may have just found a possible candidate for a new BFF. Combining diamonds and fun is definitely the way to our hearts.

HSN Partners With Entertainment Icon Liza Minnelli for the Exclusive Launch of The Liza Collection June 30

Who doesn't love iconic singer and actress, Liza Minnelli? At least that is what HSN is betting on when Liza kicks off HSN's programming on June 30th to celebrate their 33rd birthday with the launch of The Liza Collection. This collection consists of fashion and jewelry that is said to be inspired by her wardrobe throughout her career. The timing could not be more perfect as Sex and the City 2 premiers this week, in which Liza has a cameo role. SATC fanatics are more crazed about the fashion than the plot line which hopefully carries over (no pun intended) to the entertainer's debut in the fashion category.

You may recognize or have heard of Lynne Curtin from Bravo’s hit show, "Real Housewives of Orange County." Well, now she has launched a career as a jewelry designer expanding her line into handbags, belts and wedding accessories. Much of her inspiration in her designs comes from the beautiful scenery and lifestyle of Laguna Beach.

In her latest endeavors, Lynne Curtin creates her jewelry line titled Lynne Curtin Design with fleur del lis as her staple onto her cuff bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. Her designs definitely channel the inner hippie chick, glam diva and the rocker chick all rolled into one. Her designs are bold in particular her cuff bracelets which come in hot pink, black, white, gold or silver with the signature supersized fleur del lis embedded.

YLANG23 Jewelry PR Profile

To say that Joanne Teichman has an eye for the unique, trendy and high-end is an understatement. For the past 25 years Teichman has discovered fine jewelry designers across the U.S. and Europe to incorporate into her Dallas-based jewelry store, Ylang23, with much success. Her clients count on her keen understanding of jewelry trends to deliver to them what is hip and current, as well as the pieces that will serve as timeless additions to their collections.

From Ylang23's own private label collection of diamond bangles, crosses, rings (pictured above), and gemstone strands to Atelier Marisa and many other brilliant jewelry designers (including our favorites Emily Armenta and Jude Frances), there is quite a selection at Ylang23, both in-store and online.

Another reason to love Ylang23? They are active in social media with a blog, Twitter and Facebook.

Jewelry PR: AVON Buys Sterling Silver Giant Silpada

Global beauty and fashion direct selling giant, AVON has announced that has purchased fellow direct sales company, Silpada, for $650 million. Silpada, known for its sterling silver jewelry, has proven to be a successful contender in the home party business since it began in 1997. With its sales figures around $230 million per year, it's easy to see why AVON would make the move to incorporate them into their portfolio.

While AVON's main focus has always been beauty, fashion has also remained a component of the company. It's been said that Silpada will remain a separate company, such as Liz Earle has once it was acquired by AVON earlier this year.

So will the success of Silpada help profit margins moving forward for AVON? It'll certainly be interesting to see if this changes anything for both companies.

Bounkit Jewelry PR Brand Profile

A Morocco native, Bounkit jewelry designer, Hassan Bounkit, started his jewelry line in 2006. Hassan began his career studying fashion design in Florence, Italy, but from that point onward, he began working for Couture houses Ferragamo, Marella Ferrera, amongst others. He later moved to New York where he worked for Nicole Miller and Arnold Scaasi. With an extensive resume in fashion design, Bounkit launched a jewelry line of his own.

In his current 2010 collection, Bounkit’s designs are very tribal and ethnic inspired based largely on the immense influences of Mediterranean and ancient Moroccan designs. Many of his bold statement jewelry features sensationally oversized stones as the center of attention. His collections are the perfect blend of modern architectural jewelry with a splash of Art Deco boldness. His experimentation with the different colored sunset hues stones creates these beautiful pieces  and textures such as that seen with turquoise and rondells as well as crystal beads with organically cut colored stones.

Fortunoff Fine Jewelry Re-Emerges Under Licensing to Four Leaf Designs

In February 2009, Fortunoff filed for bankruptcy, closing all of their home and jewelry stores. For a brand that had been around since its inception in 1922, it appeared that the economy was getting the best of everyone. And now, as recently as last week, Fortunoff has announced that they are "back in business." According to their website, they will be re-launching their jewelry through an exclusive licensing deal with Four Leaf Designs, LLC for US and internet sales.

Back in 2005 the family sold the company, however soon the recession hit and the company was closed. No amount of brand loyalty could keep it afloat when disposable income started to become extinct. But just last month, the Fortunoff family announced that they had re-acquired all trademarks, intellectual property and copyrights for the brand. A welcomed relief I'm sure to a family who held such a household name for 4 generations. Now the brand will begin to re-emerge to start "A new beginning" as their home page states.

Internet sales will come first this fall with the focus shifting to stores in 2011.The best part for those who have long loved Fortunoff jewelry is that the brand looks to sell their pieces at prices "that make sense." In other words, price points for every budget? We'll just have to wait and see, but we expect the jewelry industry and previous customers to welcome them back with open arms.

Stay up to date by viewing their website at www.Fortunoff.com

Can Jewelry PR & Marketing Ever Be Green?

We've heard lots of stories of recalled children's jewelry this year that contained the toxic metal, cadmium. From Walmart to McDonald's to The Limited Too, it appeared that these retailers, until outted by the press, rarely (if ever) looked into what metals the manufacturers of these jewelry lines were using. And what about if you do jewelry PR for these companies and/or these jewelry lines? How can you market jewelry that could potentially cause cancer? Truth is, you can't.

As the demand continues for products that tie into health, it's surprising to me to hear that a bill submitted to the California Assembly this past week to ban jewelry containing more than 300 parts per million of cadmium from being made or sold in California beginning in 2012 (according to the LA Times) still had 15 that opposed the ban to 41 who approved it. I wonder if those 15 have children. And why wait until 2012 to start protecting our children from wearing jewelry that is harmful to their health?

What are your thoughts on the ban? Are there efforts going on where you live to stop jewelry from being made or sold that contain cadmium in it?

Jewelry PR: Go Belly Go

Expecting mothers are traditionally accustomed to the specially made maternity clothes and shoes. Now, they have another aspect of pregnancy to look forward to: maternity jewelry. Go Belly Go is the perfect staple for mothers-to-be, specializing in engraved necklaces made especially for the mommy and baby.

These sentimental necklaces are made entirely of a polished zinc pendant and hang on an eighteen-inch sterling silver chain. There are twelve different pendants to chose from, each with a different month in which the baby is expected to be born. With the due date explicitly stated on the front, it is sure to reduce the age old question asked by strangers: "When are you due?"

Tiffany Jewelry Retail Expands In A Down Economy

Tiffany & Co. is doing something few companies in the luxury market have been able to do, successfully, in this down economy: open more retail stores. With its recent opening of its 81st U.S. jewelry store in Baltimore this month, Tiffany & Co. is making good on its business goals for 2010 to expand manufacturing and retail outlets here in the U.S. And with recent earnings continuing to show an uptick for the jewelry brand, there appears to be no stopping them.

So why is this luxury jewelry brand doing so well despite high unemployments rates and cut backs in consumer spending? It is likely because Tiffany jewelry is seen as more of an investment than a splurge. An investment in tradition and quality versus purchasing just for the seasonal trend. What do you think?

Jewelry PR: Rings Eclectic by Melanie Lynn

Statement jewelry continues to be a huge jewelry trend this year and in Melanie Lynn’s beautiful collection, Rings Eclectic, you will find sophisticated, chunky designs that will capture the attention of others- without being gaudy. The timeless appearance of the creative jewelry makes them great conversation pieces, suitable for any look.

Prior to creating jewelry, Melanie was a graphic designer and had two successful solo shows as a painter. It is evident in every unique piece that her jewelry draws on her artistic inspiration. Her rings are carefully designed and created with layers of multiple materials, including brass, crystal, pearls and gorgeous stones. Each crystal and pearl is then placed in by hand. The most effort goes into months of designing the acrylic base. They are then polished individually and inscribed with Melanie’s signature on the side.

18K Fine Gold Jewelry Media Relations w/ Dean Harris

Self-taught Dean Harris is an artistic mastermind who discovered his jewelry talent, while on a quest to learn why people embellish their bodies with jewelry and accessories. Harris believes in the ability for us to relate to the world in a positive way though the self-expression of what we wear.

Harris designed a gorgeous collection of earrings, bracelets, necklaces and rings that are predominantly made of 18K gold and silver and often combined with either Tahitian pearls, fossilized mammoth or shed horn.

A beautifully artistic piece that caught my attention was a piece of green petrified wood brilliantly attached as a pendant to a thin golden chain. The chain is attached in a way that appears as if it is woven throughout the wood and then decorated with tiny pink sapphires. Harris’ ability to take unlikely pieces and turn it into a magnificent expression of art is a remarkable talent.

Jewelry PR: Carol Dauplaise

Carol Dauplaise Jewelry has been turning out gorgeous costume jewelry pieces since 1978. The privately-owned company was founded by Dauplaise herself, after working almost 20 years under costume jewelry retailer Miriam Haskell. Her time spent at Haskell gave her the experience to branch off and create her own line of bold statement pieces.

The brand is known for lots of stone accents, embellishments, and pearls. As a costume jewelry retailer, the emphasis is on large, chunky necklaces and intricate bracelets and earrings. The jewelry can be worn as standalone pieces that will be sure to add the finishing touch onto any ensemble.

For those who like a little bling, Carol Dauplaise rings are to die for. One of my favorite pieces from her ring collection is the Hematite Flower Stretch Ring (pictured). My suggestion? Pair the ring with an uber-trendy purple nail varnish for a totally polished fall look. The price point for the collections is quite reasonable. Bracelets and rings sell for about $15, but many online retailers have past season’s rings on sale for as low as $9. Including necklaces, brooches, and earrings, all items from the current collections sell for under $50.

Carol Dauplaise’s contemporary collection is fabulous, but be sure to check out some of her vintage pieces as well. Though the vintage items are a bit more expensive, the jewelry has an antique charm that just can’t be replicated. The company’s website is currently under construction, but you can find Carol Dauplaise jewelry at other online retailers like Shopstyle, Dillard’s, and more.

Jewelry PR: Larkspur & Hawk

Inspired by the times, the Larkspur & Hawk jewelry collection represents classical, dated pieces with a charming modern flair.

The Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco time periods characterize this jewelry, giving it a unique, antique look. Founder and designer, Emily Satloff has a degree in the History of Decorative Arts, so she supplemented her love for 18th and 19th century jewelry with a modern-day design philosophy. Satloff was a curator at The New-York Historical Society and a consultant at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. This experience with fine antiques was perfect for launching a line that commends century-old techniques combined with a modern aesthetic.

Diamond Marketing Is In Vogue For This Holiday

When you think about the one jewelry item that stands out as the most versatile, timeless and the only piece that is still in trend no matter the season, the only answer that comes to mind is diamonds. During the recession it was clear: if consumers were purchasing jewelry, it was as on investment pieces not trendy items. However, the diamond marketing we were seeing was geared more towards the bridal market (which is apropos since you really can't have a wedding without a diamond engagement ring) than anyone else. Now that our economy seems to be back on the uptick that is all changing and marketing diamonds for holiday gifts is back in style.

While Beauty PR is tackling Kate Middleton's manicure, and Fashion PR is all over the dress and shoes, Jewelry PR can't get enough of the engagement ring. And while it is not just any engagement ring, it is Princess Diana's after all, it is atypical in that it involves a gemstone surrounded by diamonds. (Thanks Prince William for igniting the energy back into the public's love of jewelry!)

The interest in diamonds never wanes and while that Canary Yellow Diamond or Pink diamond may be out of reach for most consumers, your typical stone can come in so many shapes, sizes and cuts that just about anyone can afford it. (I personally am making it my goal to own a Le Vian Chocolate Diamond one day!)

Have you noticed the increase in diamond marketing so far this holiday season?

Born and currently residing in Greece, Ileana Makri has created a beautifully refined staple for Athenians searching for unique, hand crafted goods. Her jewelry line, Makri is full of symbolism and stunning old-world craftsmanship.

Jewelry PR: Hoorsenbuhs

Ages ago, Hoorsenbuhs was the name of a 16th-century ship that traded gold and luxuries across the world. Today, fine jewelry brand Hoorsenbuhs aims to bring luxury to those who desire it as an homage to the namesake.

Designed by Robert Keith, Hoorsenbuhs' creations are easily recognizable and have an air of pure elegance. The tri-link motif is a simple yet indulgent design that the brand has made their own. The interlocking design is a metaphor for the designer’s lifestyles and the brand image: strength, quality, and opulence.

The line is completely customizable. Buyers can choose their metal, whether it be platinum, silver, or 18 karat yellow, pink, or white gold. From there, buyers can decide if they want diamonds or other detailing. The brand even flaunts a bridal collection with gorgeous wedding bands and engagement rings.

Hoorsenbuhs’ newest designs include stackable rings and bracelets. Some pieces are modifications of previous designs, but prove to be just as beautiful and well-crafted.

Snooki from The Jersey Shore's NEW PR & Marketing Strategy - A Jewelry Line

Honestly, I thought Snooki's venture into product promotion would be with hair spray or spray tanning, but jewelry? It appears that Snooki has partnered with DiamondShark, a jewelry deal of the day site, to launch what is said to be the first piece from her jewelry line.

The 2011 Snooki Party Ball is a limited edition pendant containing 1 carat of pink sapphire gemstones retailing for $49. All snark aside, it's actually very pretty. And although it's deemed a party ball, the pendant is jewelry that can worn year round.

What do you think about Snooki designing jewelry? Will it extend her 15 minutes of fame and make people take her more seriously? Or will the popularity fade just like a fake tan?

Find it at www.DiamondShark.com.

Jewelry PR: Bittersweets NY

For those not fond of tradition, Bittersweets NY is the ultimate indie jewelry brand. Bittersweets designs draws attention to the beauty in everyday things…especially those things that aren’t traditionally beautiful. Whether it’s twigs, maggots, or anatomically-correct hearts, you’ll find the designs to be stunningly different, though a bit unorthodox.

Bittersweets was founded in 2002 by a girl who used to work at a foundry for famous people and the pre-television housewives of New York. Her art experience and love of sculpting drove her to start her own jewelry brand, and Bittersweets NY was born soon after. The concept lies within making the ordinary extraordinary. In their words, why reinvent the wheel?

Take their Brilliant Twig Ring collection, for example. The band of each ring is modeled after real twigs, cast by hand for a completely inimitable look. The earring, bracelet, and necklace collections promise more of the same uniqueness. Aside from paying an amazing attention to detail, the brand has an intrinsic sense of humor, with sarcastic product descriptions and products that are sure to be conversation starters.

Jewelry Public Relations: Elizabeth and James

Ever feel like you have the perfect ensemble worked out but when it came to the jewelry you were left feeling a bit stumped? Well allow me to introduce you to Elizabeth and James. Mary- Kate and Ashley Olsen are the co-designers of this well known label that includes menswear, womenswear and jewelry. These 24 year old entrepreneurs launched this stellar label in 2007 after the success of their predecessor line, The Row.

Unlike The Row, Elizabeth and James is in a more affordable price range. To some it may seem a bit pricey being that a simple sterling silver stackable ring can cost $55 and exceed all the way up $755 for a mesh draping necklace, however these items are timeless and will never go out of style. So think of it as an investment!

The great aspect of their pieces is that each one has this rustic and vintage look to it. I happen to love the jewelry for it's worn in appearance. Each piece is predominantly sterling silver with gold, onyx and sapphire accents. No matter which one of the 73 piece spring 2011 collection you may pick up, wearing Elizabeth and James will guarantee you a few compliments for the evening.

Jewelry PR: Dominique Cohen

When it comes to standing apart from the crowd, women have endless style options: hair, makeup, nails, wardrobe…but the most important, enduring part of a woman’s ensemble is her jewelry. At least that’s what jewelry designer Dominique Cohen believes. Since 1999, Cohen has been working to create jewelry that is beautiful, iconic, and distinctive.

Cohen’s goal was to use fine quality materials to create stylish looks that easily transition from day to night, wearable for weeks, seasons, and years. All Dominique Cohen jewelry is handmade by a team of artisans in LA, with many of the precious and semiprecious gemstones cut by hand. Additionally, each piece is marked with the Dominique Cohen trademark label to ensure quality and organic beauty.

For any one that relishes in the presence of finely crafted pieces, Elizabeth Cole is your go to label. It's fair to say that their prices are relatively reasonable with their lowest priced trinkets running for $55 and highest priced at $300.

The creative director, Stephanie Owen, says that her collection is “of intricately crafted costume jewelry meant to inspire the golden tigress within.” And from what I've seen, she's doing a great job carrying out that vision. From her golden ram ring with crystals embedded on the horns to her hanging crystal dagger necklace, Owen is making a clear statement with her line: don't be afraid to show the world just how fierce you are.

Jewelry PR: COOMI

Traditionally, a Renaissance Woman is one who is strong enough to be completely in control of her destiny-- a woman of high intelligence and superior self-confidence. Jewelry designer Coomi embodies this mindset and has used her creativity and sheer inspiration to drive her careers as both an architect and designer.

As teenager, Coomi designed personal jewelry out of beads and other ordinary objects, and this love of art and design is what motivated her to work as a textile designer later in life. After graduating with an Art History degree, Coomi began designing for private clientele, working with rich gold and gemstones. She also had a brief stint as an architect and landscape designer, but soon felt it was time to bring her true desires to life. In 2002, Coomi launched her self-named jewelry collection.

Today, COOMI designs have come to be known for their strong symmetry and feminine flair. Coomi’s award-winning designs are made from the highest quality of materials: the designer works exclusively with high karat gold, rose-cut diamonds and precious gemstones.

Luxury Jewelry PR with Adriana Orsini

If I could only use two words to describe Adriana Orsini's jewelry collection, I would choose the words simply elegant. Because that's what her jewelry is all about.

Her collection is sold exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue and she primarily uses silver, crystal and cubic zirconia, but you can get your hands on some great gold and pearls pieces as well. What's so appealing about Adriana's jewelry is the wide range of her price point that suits every budget.

Some of the best pieces in her collection are her wonderful necklaces. One of my favorites is a sterling silver flower pave necklace that is embellished with crystals and cubic zirconia. It retails for $100. Perfect to wear everyday or when you want to add a little glamour to your ensemble. Whichever you prefer!

Fine Jewelry PR : LAGOS

Caviar is considered a luxury delicacy, exclusive and often enjoyed with fine champagne. Aside from its decadent reputation, caviar has an inimitable look, so it only makes sense for a luxury jewelry brand to draw inspiration from it. The fine jewelry brand LAGOS has taken the look and feel of the indulgence and turned it into an even more luxe treat: beautifully crafted jewelry.

Founded by Steven Lagos in 1977, the eponymous label began crafting the caviar-inspired pieces in 1984. The brand quickly became known for such designs and their juxtaposition of gold and silver. LAGOS aims to create contemporary fashion pieces that are not only accessible and easy to wear, but of the highest quality.

The intricate beading and delicate orbs of silver and gold have a quiet beauty, an almost understated luxury. It takes hundreds of tiny steps to complete one single Caviar creation, each design the brainchild of Steven Lagos himself. After each piece is crafted, the sterling silver is oxidized to give the metals a contrast that brings out the unique sculptural quality of each Caviar design.

Fine Jewelry PR: Fallon

Fallon jewelry has been making a name for itself since its release in 2007. Creator, Dana Lorenz decided to launch a second line of pieces after the success of the line called Fenton. Fallon mixes together hard materials and gives them a tough edge with a bit of sass.

The Fallon collection consists of earrings, rings, necklaces, and bracelets. Some of my favorite pieces from the collection are her necklaces. They're all great statement pieces or can be worn layered under some of your favorite necklaces. I also adore her earrings. One of my all time favorite pieces are her vanishing mircospike hoops ($210) that are made of brass. Hard edge meets glamour when it comes to those earrings. Another piece I adore is her maze knot ring ($98) that also caught the attention of CW star, Leighton Meester. She was seen spotted wearing the ring at one of her many thrilling events.

Jewelry PR: Majorica

Pearls are timeless. Certainly, there are other types of jewelry that have a similar eternal allure, but pearls are in a distinctive category of its own. They’re glamorous, classic, elegant…and because of this, they are often imitated. Imitation anything often comes with a stigma, but simulated pearls can be just as beautiful as the real thing…if you know what to look for.

Eponymous jewelry brand Majorica has been producing the highest quality man-made pearls since 1890. Manufactured on the Spanish Island of Majorca in the Mediterranean, Majorica or Mallorca pearls bear the closest resemblance to natural pearls. Majorica focuses on quality. The pearl-crafting process is incredibly time consuming, and Majorica treats each simulated pearl just as if it was being formed in a real oyster. Rather than being formed in mollusks, the man-made pearls are grown from glass coated in a special paste. Not the most glamorous process, but it does yield glamorous results.

Jewelry PR: Bing Bang by Anna Sheffield

In need of a big bang? Well look no further because the jewelry created by Anna Sheffield is exactly that. Her collection, Bing Bang by Anna Sheffield, has a hard edge to every piece with a bit of femininity and humor added. If you're looking for classical pieces, I suggest you stop looking now because her line is anything but traditional.

In order for jewelry to grab my attention, it has to have some sort of quirky twist to it. Once I discovered Bing Bang's key bangle ($88) that is made up of four brass and silver plated keys molded together, I knew this brand was a winner. Anna Sheffield's daring collection is comprised of necklaces, earrings, bracelets and rings. She's even got a few pieces for men as well.

Jewelry PR with Isosselliani

In need of a fun statement piece to spruce up your jewelry collection? Designers, Robert Paolucci and Paolo Giacomelli teamed up back in 1997 to create their line of jewelry, Iosselliani, that mixes fun with bold pieces. Crafting with 18K gold, white gold, sterling silver, and an endless amount of stones and gems, this line is ideal for a woman who loves fabulous jewels!

The collection is consisted of numerous rings, bracelets, earrings and necklaces that are all statement pieces of their own. One of my favorite pieces happens to be their brass necklace with shaded fringes and gemstones ($705). It's such a daring piece that once it's worn, it would be best to let this necklace be the main focus and let your other jewelry be rather modest. It's a very overpowering piece. I've noticed that much of their collection is about standing out and not being conservative. Like for example their silver panther ring ($242) with red rubies set as the eyes. So bold! The label has a variety of chain necklaces aligned with crystals, black diamonds and other stones. I think they're perfect for adding to your normally banal everyday outfit.

Fine Jewelry PR with Fabio Cammarata

There's nothing more exciting than when you discover something new. Especially when it comes to jewelry. Italian designer, Fabio Cammarata, began his career working closely with important Italian designers before he made the ultimate decision to embark on his own. Working only with the finest gems and metal this industry has to offer, Cammarata's collection is comprised of show stopping pieces that continue to be lusted after.

His line is composed of mainly gems (opal, quartz and jade) and serious metals (gold and black iron). One of my favorite pieces is his Manhattan soul ring ($1,375). This ring is a stunningly massive quartz stone planted on an 18k gold ban. What really stands out about this ring are the line of small diamonds placed on the stone.

Other pieces that caught my attention are his people initial necklaces($1,300- 1,600). People, shaped in 18k, are molded into every letter of the alphabet. From far away it may appear as it the gold is intricately twined, but up close the details of small people make up the letters on these pendants. Very unique!

Jewlery PR: Suzannah Wainhouse

A crucial part of any outfit -- jewelry-- can make or break it and also reveals a piece of your personality. Visually interesting as they are beautiful, Suzannah Wainhouse’s collection of jewelry allows you to awaken your inner warrior princess (more refined of course).

Inspired by nature and ancient artifacts, designer Suzannah Wainhouse creates primal jewelry suitable for both men and women. Her pieces have a unique, rugged quality that emulates the beauty in which her pieces come from. The powerful pull of her metalwork allows her pieces to stand-alone.

Environmentally conscious as they are beautiful, the pieces are made from recycled gold and silver, which incorporate elements of history, energy and life. She does not “construct” but rather “sculpts” her pieces together, allowing for the natural energy to flow in the process of formation.

Jewelry PR with Linda Lee Johnson

I love gold jewelry. It's rare, though, that I can find a line that makes impeccable gold pieces. My search may have ended since discovering Linda Lee Johnson's jewelry. Her line is composed of diamonds, gems and gold galore! With her unique aesthetic, any jewelry lover will instantly fall in love with her collection.

One of my favorite pieces from this collection are her Gigi earrings ($2300). A giant lemon colored quartz gem hangs from a 22K gold and diamond accent. These earrings embody class and elegance. Who wouldn't want to walk around with that on their ears?

I also love her rings. They all have their own unique aspect to them. Her Memphis ring ($4450) is very simple and tasteful. It's the type of ring that can be worn with anything because of it's effortless appearance. Composed simply of hammered 22k yellow gold set in a wide band, you can throw this ring on everyday and mix and match it with your other favorite pieces.

Jewelry PR: Justin Tanter's Fetty

Greenpoint-based jewelry company Fetty has a rock-and-roll and cutting edge vibe. Founded by ‘garage glam’ rock artist Justin Tanter of the ‘Semi Precious Weapons’ his personal style pervades the collections.

Between his childhood and creative nature, Tanter’s journey into design was only natural. He craved another outlet for his creativity apart from the music. Due to his experience in his mother’s jewelry business he landed himself a job working in a jewelry store in his early days in New York. Gradually, he began to design his own pieces to be sold as merchandise at the Semi Precious Weapons’ shows.

The pieces themselves were rock-and-roll themed with charms and pendants typically shaped as a variety of hearts and weapons. The designs quickly caught the eyes of large retailers such as Urban Outfitters and Hot Topic, who picked up the collection. From the positive public feedback, Tanter garnered the courage to take the jump of founding his own company where he could distribute and sell his jewelry.

Kerry Howley's Jewelry Made from Human Hair: Art or Disgusting?

As many of you may have heard already, Kerry Howley, an Art student from Middlesex University recently won the Museum of Domestic Architecture’s Arthur Silver Award for her graduate collection titled Attraction/Aversion. Attraction/Aversion features necklaces made out of human hair. Yes, human hair.

Kerry Howley’s vision behind this project was to see how human emotions are conflicting. Most people are very attached to their hair and consider it to be an important part of their appearance. However, once hair is cut and has lost the connection with a person’s body, people generally find it disgusting.

SCAD graduate, self-proclaimed Tom Boy and daydreamer extraordinaire, Elizabeth Thompson is the mind behind the Brooklyn-based jewelry line Elizabeth Knight. Named after her grandmother, her line is the three dimensional incarnation of her childhood creativity and challenges our idea of “pretty.”

The unusual pieces pack enough femininity to keep the pieces dainty, but her incorporation of out-of-the-box materials such as scorpion claws or a rattlesnake’s jaw keep them from being overtly girly. Delicate gold chains and fresh water pearls, intertwined with oxidized silver and assorted animal skeleton’s (what an edge!)

Jessica Simpson Starts Marketing Her Jewelry at Zales

Most of us thought Jessica Simpson's career ended when she emerged on her Newlyweds reality TV show as a ditzy blonde confused about Chicken of the Sea...then further thought she'd flop when she began to struggle with her weight and had zero fashion sense to dress for her shape...and even when The Price of Beauty never really left the launchpad, we all realized there was still something about Jessica Simpson that was a moneymaker. And while everyone wants to rain on her parade, I'm pretty sure she has a diamond encrusted umbrella to laugh all the way to the bank with.

Her latest venture is jewelry related as she begins to market her new partnership with Zales for her collection of Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend. The line is naturally centered around diamonds (since Zales is The Diamond Store after all.) Zales has the collection angled as diamond fashion jewelry to align with her recognition as a fashion brand (available online and via Macy's.)

The collection, which will be available exclusively at Zales, debuts in October in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico. Will she succeed as jewelry designer? Tweet us @piercemattiepr with your thoughts!

NYC Jewelry PR: David Aubrey

This NYC based design company has been in the spotlight since it was founded in 1996. David Aubrey's jewelry designer, Jennifer Arago, is known for creating pieces that are elegant, artsy, and colorful at the same time. All the jewelry for this line are handmade by skilled artisans. Jennifer’s technique for designing jewelry is very unique because instead of skteching them out, she chooses materials and pieces according to the color palette she wants to use. She then experiments with different shapes and patterns to come up with her beautiful jewelry designs. Moreover, David Aubrey clients come from a large age range and have different taste preferences. So Jennifer can have fun with her designs, creating pieces that are elegant, fun and timeless.

Her choice of design method isn’t that strange when you look at her background. She studied at St. Peter’s College, Jersey City University, and Christ Hospital School of Nursing where she took art courses. She had always dreamed of being an artist and never thought of being a jewelry designer. It was just a hobby that turned into an amazing career opportunity. Don’t you love it when that happens?

Lucio Carniani Italian Jewelry Acquired by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway

If there is one thing to say about Warren Buffet, it's that he knows business like he knows money, which seem to be going hand in hand for him lately when it comes to the jewelry industry. It was just announced that Richline International, part of Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway, recently acquired Italian jewelry brand, Carniani.

Carniani, which creates gold and silver jewelry, is now one of five jewelry brands that Richline has acquired in the past year. Many of the brands were small, boutique brands that were hit hard by the poor economy and in need of a lifeline to stay afloat. Regardless of industry, we've been seeing a lot of acquisitions across the board since the recession hit (which is not only US focused.)

What do you think of large companies scooping up small brands? Is it the end of the mom and pop type feel of knowing a designer and the beginning of turning it into a corporate, faceless entity? Tweet us your thoughts @PierceMattiePR.

NY PR: Wear This Jewelry Trend for Fall 2011: Ornate Cuff Bracelets

If you are the kind of woman who likes to make a statement with her jewelry..from flirty to bold, one jewelry trend that I think is a must-wear this fall is an ornate cuff. I love how this thicker and more sizable cuff gets you noticed and can vary in color and design.

One of my favorites is DeAnna Cochran's Native American re-purposed leather cuff with bronze and a Tiffany green patina finish. I also have DeAnna's necklace and earrings from her Sea of Change collection and I think her stingray cuff would be the perfect addition. One of the things I love most about her jewelry is that it is all recycled materials, so you are not only saving the environment from a little less trash, but you are doing so in style.

You can find more of DeAnna Cochran's jewelry at www.deannacochran.com. Will you be wearing a cuff bracelet this fall?

As they struggled to contend with the boom-and-bust cycle that began with the subprime mortgage explosion of the mid-2000s, many U.S. jewelers lost touch with the bridal business. But given the need to build lasting relationships with coming generations of customers, jewelers need to return their focus to this all-important core competency, writes Stevan Buxbaum, president of Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors, in a Sept. 21 column for Rapaport's Diamonds.net.

"To have a balanced business today, jewelers should make sure that at least 40 percent of their assortments are bridal-oriented," he writes. "Simply put, today's bridal customer is the non-bridal customer of the future. Jewelers that fail to build relationships with bridal customers today will suffer in the long term."

Jewelry Retail PR: Diamond & Gold Vending Machine

In need of a last minute gift? Don't have time to get to the mall? Well the Gitanjali Group in Mumbai has come up with a very unique way to purchase gold and silver coins and jewelry, as well as diamonds...and it's just as easy as withdrawing cash from an ATM. In fact, that's exactly what this is.

Their jewelry ATM is targeted to those (mainly men *cough* *cough*) who are looking for a last minute item as a gift that covers a price range of $20-$650. There are 36 different pieces to choose from and the machine takes credit cards, making it easy and painless to gift your loved one.

My only question is, when thinking of the woman who lovinly laughs that her engagement ring came from a gum ball machine...what if she really had to say it came from the ATM? Something to think about.

Will a jewelry vending machine makes its way to the states? Tweet us your thoughts @PierceMattiePR.

Jewelry Trends for Fall and Winter: Rocker Chic

This season's rising jewelry trend follows the path of 'go big or go home'. We’ve been seeing a lot of statement jewelry with big and chunky rings and necklaces, not to mention combining various bangles for a more edgy look, demonstrated in Avril Lavigne’s style. This season, the chunky jewelry trend has remained but slightly shifted to a more edgy style; displaying chiseled, severe, and angular edges.

A popular collection sporting this trend is Nicole Richie’s line, House of Harlow. She designs many spectacular pieces that are significantly different from everyday jewelry; like the Triangle Armor Five Station Necklace, and one of my favorites, Triple Arrowhead Ring. The House of Harlow collection holds really exciting and thrilling pieces that soon everyone will be craving.

We see another dimension of this edgy trend through bangles and cuffs. The idea of combining different chunky bracelets is always a funky way to go, especially if you add in one of Pamela Love’s sharp creations, like her Resin Tribal Spike Cuff. Or for a slightly more 'rocker' look, the CC Skye leather studded cuff as seen in the image above.

Although silver is timeless and truly an endless classic for jewelry, gold has also made a jumping comeback in pursue of this new ‘rocker-chic’ trend. These jewelry pieces are fun to wear and ultimately make the decision of what jewelry to wear easy. Often with statement jewelry you just need that one iconic piece and your outfit is complete, if you try adding too much it might start to take away the essence of each piece, revealing a cluttered, obnoxious look.

Are you sporting this rocker chic look? Tweet us @PierceMattiePR.

Jewelry Trend: Evil Eye Jewelry

Knock wood. Good karma. The idea and belief behind wearing evil eye pieces are that the ‘eye’ essentially acts as your third eye and is in a protective position. Whoever is wearing the evil eye piece is believed to be protected from bad karma, and negative judgment. This belief is very common in the Middle East and in Greek cultures, and is being absorbed by many other religions and cultures.

Many celebrities have been spotted wearing the trend like Lindsay Lohan (you know, to protect her in jail--again), Rhianna, Kim Kardashian (to ward off the bad mojo from a fake wedding?) and Vanessa Hudgens just to name few. Many designers have developed their own perspective on the trend, leaving the diversity of evil eye jewelry to be unfathomable, and ultimately exclusive.

A few of my favorite pieces are by Coby Madison, an online jewelry boutique, where the range of diversity is evident. Their blissful 14k evil eye necklace with a touch of light turquoise, adds the perfect amount of class and elegance to any outfit and is priced at $720. Another stylish piece is their men’s black cuff bracelet, with a diamond evil eye - a really funky casual piece that can definitely be worn by women as well and is sold for $550.

Gastineau Glamour Jewelry, a mother-daughter style team who create luxury inspired jewelry, also hold chic evil eye pieces. Their diamond drop earrings with white evil eye inserts and their chunky necklace in their bold green color, are my style picks from their collection sold on HSN. Another gorgeous design is brought to us by Sydney Evan, which is the image above, a sapphire evil eye bracelet.

How many pieces of evil eye jewelry do you have your eye on? Tweet us @PierceMattiePR and let us know what you think.

Fine Jewelry: Lulu Frost CODE Collection

Count your way into the hearts of others by gifting unique jewelry - Lulu Frost has taken a new approach to defining style, by introducing a little mathematics into our accessories. Lulu Frost has designed a unique jewelry collection in the form of numbers, or as she titles her collection CODE. The most popular style seems to be the 14k Gold Number Rings, created in the number 0 through 9. A really good idea if you have an attachment to a certain number. Also, for a trendier look you can stack them on top of each other. This makes an original gift idea if there is a special date or anniversary you are celebrating! These rings are $440 each and are one of the most unique and sentimental pieces I’ve ever seen.

Lulu Frost has also designed similar styled necklaces and earrings, some with diamond studs for that extra touch of glamour. The 18k Gold Studs with a few diamond studs on the curves of each number look really classy and chic.

A fabulous find for yourself or a special someone - truly unique way to incorporate a meaningful date or number, or just a fun way to accessorize!

Are you wearing these numerical accessories? Try the style on and let us know what you think by tweeting us @PierceMattiePR

Celebrity Elizabeth Taylor Jewelry Goes to Auction

Elizabeth Taylor was an icon in film, in philanthropy, in the company she kept (including having multiple husbands), but also for her amazing jewelry collection. I don't think there is anyone who has nearly the storytelling collection that she accumulated as gifts throughout her career. And now, those glorious pieces are up for auction at Christie's.

There are memorable pieces of jewelry from the best designers like Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari and Cartier to more sentimental pieces like a charm bracelet, a necklace of engraved ivory opera passes and a titanium elephant purse (from Michael Jackson, of course.)

Christie's is displaying the items online and in their auction house. You can purchase tickets to view the pieces, which can be seen from the 3rd of December until the 12th, however the online auction begins the 13th and ends the 16th--but you can view all of the items now on Christie's website. Can you imagine owning her 19-carat diamond ring, otherwise known as "my baby" or her emerald and diamond earrings? I wouldn't mind this emerald and diamond necklace if you have $1.5million you want to spend on me.

Do you have a favorite piece from her collection you dream of owning? Tweet us @PierceMattiePR.

A Jewelry Publicist Shares Her Ideas For Men's and Women's Holiday Jewelry Gift Ideas

With gift-giving season upon us, we are all struggling on ideas of what to get that one person that already owns everything! This can be a frustrating task and one that can turn into quite the project. A good gifting idea for both the men and women on your list, is jewelry.

Fun jewelry ideas for women can be holiday themed while still staying true its original elegance - like this white and black buckle ring by ICE. Another gorgeous ring that resembles a holiday theme is Tiffany’s Jean Schlumberger ring - And what lady doesn’t love unwrapping that thrilling turquoise box?

Some jewelry ideas for men would definitely include watches. A timepiece is an universal item that essentially everyone can use and love. One of my favorite watch designs for men is the Stealth Hugo Boss watch, which is a part of their Boss Black Collection. This watch is perfect for the trendy male on your list!

Another idea for men that many of us tend to forget about is cuff links. Cuff links range in a wide variety, basically covering every design imaginable - geometric shapes, flags, letters, faces, etc. So selecting the perfect design may be challenging, however I will suggest a few of my favorites to help: The Paloma’s Groove cuff links from Tiffany’s provide the perfect amount of holiday color. Or for something slightly different - same design but in a more versatile shade - the Paloma’s Groove in gold (It comes in silver too!). Moving away from that design towards an “everyday” type of link - The Elsa Peretti cuff link presents a classy professional look as well.

Couldn’t we all use a little holiday frosting? Liven up your holiday gift list with jewelry and let us know what you think by tweeting us @PierceMattiePR.

Luxury Jewelry PR: Mikimoto Pearls

Even though they say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, pearls make very good ‘besties’ too! Mikimoto, located on Fifth Avenue in NYC, offers a wide range of elegant pearls and diamonds, ranging from $300 to $10,000+. Mikimoto ensures the best quality of pearls, only selecting pearls from the top five percentile on the pearl pyramid grading system - If you’re going to get beautiful pearls might as well be the best of the best in terms of quality and worth.

Mikimoto designs pieces from rings, bracelets and necklaces, to men’s selections, matched sets, and perfect pendants. Some of my favorite’s that are going straight to my Holiday Wish List are: Mikimoto’s Baroque Bangle Bracelet with the perfect touch of color and glamorous glitz of the wrapped diamonds and the breathtaking Water Lily Ring in white gold.

I also found the Holiday Gifts section on their website helpful for selecting for different ages on your list - Even though most of their pieces are timeless classics and will never run the chance of going out of style.

If you have never ventured into the luxurious world of pearls, starting off with simple pearl studs (like Mikimoto’s White South Sea Studs) is great way to begin. Although you must be warned, pearls will become a stunning addition to your jewelry collection and will most likely lead to more…

What Mikimoto pieces are you adding to your wish list? Let us know your favorites by tweeting us @PierceMattiePR

Jewelry with CFDA SWAROVSKI Award Winner Eddie Borgo

After falling in love with Eddie Borgo’s Hinged Crystal Ring, I craved more of his style. Eddie Borgo has designed some of the most funky jewelry pieces I’ve ever seen. He has created daring and edgy pieces that can be worn as statements or in layering combinations.

Many the Eddie Borgo designs involve geometric shapes and stylish figures of insects - Sounds weird, and I am definitely not a lover of any type of creepy crawler, but the spider designs are molded in such a way that bizarre turns into style. As you can see with his Spider Ring, and Feathered Spider Choker. Another fabulous piece is the Ladybug Cuff in graphite and black, sold for $690.

One of my favourite pieces from the Eddie Borgo collection are the silver bear trap bangles, which are priced at $490. Eddie Borgo jewelry is available at many online stores like Net-a-porter and the official Eddie Borgo website.

The Eddie Borgo collection is very diverse, ranging from dressy styles to casual, sparkly to matte, and neutral to poping colors. Check out the Eddie Borgo collections and let us know your favorite styles @PierceMattiePR.

Luxury Jewelry Advertising: Did Fred Rip Off David Yurman with Kate Moss Ads

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery...and David Yurman knows that can come in many forms. Copying a design with a few tweaks is typically the way it is done in the jewelry industry, but if you compared French jewelry brand Fred's latest advertisements featuring Kate Moss with Yurman's from this past Spring, you may instead be saying it is a form of photographic plagiarism.

The ads compared, as seen in the NYPost, show both Yurman and Fred's print ads featuring Moss in almost identical poses containing details that seem to mirror each other. Is it a PR stunt on behalf of Fred to draw the two competitors into public controversy? Or maybe simply to generate buzz about the brand? I can think of other ways...like positioning yourself differently from your competitor, not showcasing ads that lack creativity because you stole it, for one.

What do you think? An honest mistake or purposefully done? Tweet us your thoughts @PierceMattiePR

Retail Shopping Soared Through Thanksgiving Weekend. Will It Sustain Till Christmas?

It wasn't just fists flying over a $2 waffle maker in Walmart making headlines this past holiday weekend...but the fact that retail sales surged this year looking more like pre-recession spending levels. Generation Discount, along with their moms, sisters and family, were out in full force trying to scoop up all of the sales. With some locations opening as early as 9pm on Thanksgiving, getting the best deal was game ON.

While it's true that despite the news media sharing that Black Friday would not have the best deals of the season (I warned my sister to hold off...but she didn't listen and then later relayed her disappointment as I inserted a "told you so" here and there), consumers were ready to open their wallets and try to make this a very affordable Christmas.

The true question is this--did spending increase because retailers were offering up to 70-80% off (the most I have ever seen) or was it simply because consumers felt it was OK to go shopping again (as stated by Ellen Davis, President of the National Retail Federation in a recent NYT article)? Tweet us your thoughts @PierceMattiePR.

The true question is this--did spending increase because retailers were offering up to 70-80% off (the most I have ever seen) or was it simply because consumers felt it was OK to go shopping again (as stated by Ellen Davis, President of the National Retail Federation in a recent NYT article)? Charm Jewelry Public Relations: Pandora

Remember those tacky charm bracelets with collectible charms you used to buy for mom, your best friend or yourself? Your favorite holiday charm, your heritage’s flag or maybe just your initials, crested on your choice of gold or silver, were all so exhilarating to purchase as a next addition to your most cherished jewelry piece.  You can have it all back with a fresh more mature approach with Pandora Jewelry.

I wouldn’t vouch for such jewelry box must-haves if I didn’t own a few of the designer’s pieces myself!  Each piece I own is an everyday type of accessory.  I sleep, shower, and pretty much do everything with my sterling silver Pandora clasp bracelet.  This bracelet is joined by a cross symbol pendant and two spacers, one spacer on each side of the pendant to keep it centered. I can say with poise that I am in love with, and now addicted to Pandora’s products. I received this as a gift, and has been my favorite gift ever received, by far!

The great thing about purchasing these fabulous pieces is that you can do so in increments, at your own pace and budget.  Buy that special someone an elegant, classy bracelet just because; then warm her heart on Valentine’s Day with a stunning charm.  It also leaves room to keep the bracelet simple, or garnish it as much as you please!  You can wear certain charms one day, and rock the contradictory the next.  Have fun and play dress up as you once did!  You’re never too old to enjoy these girlish delights!

An average sterling silver bracelet by Pandora ranges between $65-$100.  Charms or pendants can range on average from $30-$400 depending on your choice of metal and additional material.  You will find prices below and above those averages as well.

Another beloved piece of mine is what I call my Pandora ring set.  I wear three different rings all on one finger creating a stacked ring set.  A jewelry piece like this is extremely unique, which one can make their own.  For each of the past holidays: Christmas, my birthday, and payday I have treated myself to one of these rings, until I eventually created my own magnum opus! Each of the rings purchased ranged from an affordable price of $30-$80 each.

Sterling silver and gold aren’t the only materials used; leather bracelets and Murano glass beads are other notorious trademarks of the company. At a more affordable price than Tiffany’s or David Yurman, Pandora Jewelry can be ordered from the company’s website Pandora.net or found at your local fine jewelry store.

Do you wear Pandora charms? Let us know @PierceMattiePR.

Jewelry in Pantone's Tangerine Tango for 2012

The rays of the sun are soon to shine.   The bronze tones are soon to appear on the skin.  And most importantly, the fabulous colors of the year, and more specifically of the season, are coming into play when accessorizing our wardrobes for spring of 2012.  Tangerine Tango has been selected as Pantone’s hottest color for spring of 2012.  When viewing the color palette on pantone.com, it is not your archetypal tangy orange color you’d imagine, I would go as far as categorizing it closer to a coral color tone.

This spring, pair Aurelie Bidermann’s Enamel Choker Necklace, priced at $3,365, with a simple, white classic day dress.  You can’t go wrong with this vibrant color.  This unique piece is modestly deeper toned than Pantone’s more muted ‘Tangerine Tango,’ yet still lies in the shade’s vicinity and spring’s prevailing style.

Another adored piece I marvel at is this very natural looking Jasper Necklace, at a budget-friendly $395.  The stone motif also resembles that of the coral motif in the previous jewelry piece, emanating that outdoor, beachy feel.  While the description says "pink" it looks to be a more muted orange. These patterns and color combinations are the hottest jewelry trends we will see ubiquitously in spring of 2012!

I found this atypical Marc by Marc Jacobs Star-Sliced Bangle to be drool-worthy.  Paired with a more edgy ensemble, maybe a black sweater dress, tights, and a pair of black leather boots, this piece price is quite easy on the pocket at $48.

Just as the sun continues to shine each spring, so do the warm tones in our wardrobes and accessories. Do you have a favorite piece of jewelry in your closet in the Tangerine Tango shade?  Or do you have a substitute spring favorite color for 2012? Let us know at @PierceMattiePR.

Floral Jewelry Trend 2012 with Lanvin Jewelry

Full floral arrangements…to singular flowers…anything pertaining to petals is what’s modish in the midst of many jewelers at this time.  Keeping up with the floral jewelry trend this year doesn’t necessarily require the purchase of loud and kitschy pieces.

Essentially we want to keep our accessory medley a mixture of ornate and basic fundamentals.  I have selected a few adored pieces from Lanvin.

Favorite Florals:

Brooch Asymmetric Flower ($1,145): Its asymmetric shape exudes a sense of innate, elegant style, rather than a stiff facade attempting to achieve perfection.  Brooches are not merely for the ripened.  I deem that this particular jewelry genre (brooch) and style (floral) one of the most imperative in effort to complete a classically beautiful ensemble.

Petals Necklace ($795): With this overly long, brass chain, play with the option of doubling your necklace into a completely different look.  The horde of polyester flowers, topped with pearls creates a girlish looking pale pink bouquet around the neckline.  Dress it up, or dress it down.  Any solid, basics (black, gray, white, crème, etc.) would pair well this unique piece.

Petals Necklace ($685): This petals necklace alternative is creates more of a single petal motif, in contrast to a cluster or bouquet motif.   Available in off-white or plum, either pallets accent any wardrobe basics such as the aforementioned color choices.

When we think floral, it’s only habitual to think gaudy, when this isn’t essentially spot on.  Try something different with these a la mode pieces by Lanvin.

How do you feel about the floral jewelry trend?  Let us know @PierceMattiePR.

NYC-Based Jewelry: Lee Angel

Any outfit can be good, but the right accessories make an outfit great. Shopping for jewelry can be exhilarating and anyone can own a jewelry box full of amazing pieces, but it takes a true fashionista to be able to accessorize the right way.

Lee Angel makes that easy with all of their beautiful pieces. Based in SoHo, Lee Angel is right in the middle of the fashion world, making it easy to develop new ideas and trends. Lee Angel, created by Roxanne Assoulin, has been featured in major magazines here in the United States and throughout the rest of the world and has been a hit accessory on the runway.

Lee Angel does a beautiful, artistic job of being casual and fun, yet daring and fashion forward. One of the best things about Lee Angel is that all age groups who strive to find beautiful jewelry to complete their look can wear these pieces.

One of my favorite pieces is the Desiree Large Collar Necklace. It is the best chunky necklace to polish off any simple outfit and would go so well with a pair of skinny jeans, flats, and a button up blouse (with the necklace under the collar!)

Another favorite piece is the Martine Gunmetal Crystal Bracelet. The hardness of the gunmetal and the softness of the crystal make this piece very unique and beautiful, leaving it is edgy and girly at the same time.

A great everyday piece is the Lilliana Crystal Button Earrings. They are a beautiful replacement to the everyday pair of studs as they offer more detail and intricacy and you are bound to get many compliments on them.

Check out Lee Angel to find your statement jewelry pieces to take your favorite outfit from good to great! What’s your favorite statement piece? Let us know @PierceMattiePR

High Chi Energy Jewelry: Ancient Ideas with Modern Style

Jewelry has long been sought after to make us look beautiful and establish our individuality. Men have dug in the earth for the precious metals and stones that make up the most sought after jewelry today all for the sake of beauty. What if the jewelry you were wearing could do more than just make you look beautiful? What if it would benefit your health emotionally, mentally and physically?

The designers of High Chi Energy Jewelry believe that the biggest pollution problems are harmful electromagnetic fields, which are produced by any electrically charged device. They believe these have negative effects on the human body. The idea is based on ancient Egyptian philosophies regarding good and bad energy. High Chi “energizes” the jewelry’s metal to help defend against negative energy. After 15 years of research it has become more than just jewelry, it is about healing for them too.

It might sound like something out of this world, especially in a western culture, but High Chi jewelry is beautiful regardless. The geometric patterns make it look like something straight from the ancient Egyptian culture. High Chi is the perfect accessory to add variety to your jewelry collection. High Chi offers rings, earrings, pendants, necklaces and men’s jewelry. If you are looking for something new or just different you will surely be able to find something to fit your specific personality at www.highchi.com. Who knows, maybe you will experience some inner healing too.

Inspirational Jewelry Designer Emily Armenta

Artsy and exclusive…Armenta seems to be defining a new avenue for jewelers.

Emily Armenta has produced a fine jewelry line that is unique, distinctive, and original. She has always had an artist background with creativity running through her veins.  It wasn’t until she had to create a fabricated company with a written business plan for one of her college entrepreneurship classes that she then realized her dreams were about to come true.  She pursued her passion and crafted a fictitious jewelry line.  And no longer fictitious…here Armenta is today…

Armenta expresses her desire to construct creative pieces, and how heaps of her inspiration came from the prominent and distinguished Spanish poet, Federico Garcia Lorca.  Armenta states that she was “immediately moved by his passion and understanding of the power of creativity in all its forms, especially in the way of ‘duende,’ a spirit of unpredictable passions that surges within us, and how it manifests itself as a creative force.”  Carrying out the ‘duende has been Armenta’s largest inspiration.

Have you checked out Armenta Jewelry?  What do you think of such unique fine jewelry pieces?  Let us know @PierceMattiePR.

Cultured Pearls Jewelry with Yvel

A hidden pearl in the world of fashion jewelry designers is Yvel. The jewelry design architects, Orna and Isaac Levy, founded Yvel in 1986 to preserve a family tradition in artistically crafting jewelry using pearls and gemstones. Their collections bear a distinctive style in which elegance meets earthy, highlighting the natural style of the pieces. The secret behind Yvel’s sophisticated jewelry is that the original state of the freshwater pearls are maintained, preserving their natural shapes and colors.

The pearls are the focal point of Yvel’s pieces, but they are carefully adorned with 18k yellow, white or rose gold and diamonds. Yvel jewelry has even glistened down the red carpet for several award shows. Ali Lauter, Scarlett Johansson, and Mary J. Blidge have all sophisticatedly accessorized their red carpet ensembles with Yvel’s jewelry.

Although Yvel jewelry has cohesive elements of boho-chic style, the brand maintains its elegance and is relatable to women with various fashion preferences. The Pastel collection mirrors the hopeless romantic with a love for soft pinks and oranges set in gold metals. The Rainbow collection is for the sophisticated, yet fiery woman, unafraid to make bold statements while all eyes are on her. If those do not sound like you, maybe you are fit for Yvel’s One of a Kind collection for anyone who loves discovering nature's rarities, and appreciates the intricacies of artistic jewelry design. My personal favorite is the Golden Brown collection that features warm, earth-toned shades of salt-water pearls, which accentuate the radiance of the neutral hues.

Yvel is sold at many jewelry stores across the United States and Europe, as well as select Neiman Marcus department stores. The exquisitely crafted pieces may range from $2,985 for a Yvel Pearl & Sapphire Necklace with 18k gold links, to $18,600 for a Yvel Multicolored Sapphire Necklace. To discover these hidden pearls, check out Yvel’s international exhibitions, which began in January and will end in September.

stauer%20jewelry%20public%20relations.jpg

The latest trends in jewelry styles are a throwback to the roaring twenties.  Michael Bisceglia, president of Stauer (www.Stauer.com), notes that vintage art deco inspired looks take center stage this Valentine's Day, as shoppers search for unique artistic looking pieces to gift their loved ones.

From the spring runways (Ralph Lauren, Gucci and Chloe) to Hollywood's silver screen, designers have embraced the 1920's in a big way thanks to hits like HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" and Baz Luhrman's upcoming remake of "The Great Gatsby" starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Indian Heritage Inspired Jewelry with COOMI

Not your typical diamond, princess-cut setting on platinum…even better, jewelry from COOMI  brings traditional Indian culture to your fingertips…wrists, neckline and earlobes. As a multifaceted designer, Coomi Bhasin continues her creative career with her jewelry line. Think Renaissance, midsummer, multidimensional; that’s what you get with Bhasin’s unique inspiration merged with her artstic pieces of jewelry.

Prior to designing jewelry, Coomi Bhasin was a designer of landscape, textiles and architecture. Bhasin grew up in Bombay, India, where the daily clothing and jewelry items are so intricate and extravagant. As a young child, Bhasin wasn’t all for draping herself in jewels and gems as the other women of her culture did, and for that she was seen as an outcast. Thankfully, the normality of jewels in her culture, along with her surge of creativity bursting out of the seems, now arises the COOMI collection of jewelry.

Luxury Jewelry with Elizabeth Locke Jewels

People wear jewelry for many reasons: to inspire them, to add some flare to their wardrobe or to remind him or her of a loved one.  What if you could take a small piece of everything that is special to your heart and put it into a piece of jewelry that you would wear everyday? Well, that is exactly what Elizabeth Locke did.

Launched in 1988, Elizabeth Locke was so inspired by all of her travels around the world that she took that passion and love and transformed it into beautiful pieces to be worn everyday, and created Elizabeth Locke Jewels. As she continues to travel Elizabeth constantly seeks new inspiration and unique elements that make up her designs such as colored Venetian glass, South Sea pearls, and classic coins from lost empires. Each piece is individually designed by Elizabeth and handmade in 19-karat gold.

Elizabeth Locke Jewels are sold in many Neiman Marcus stores and other local retailers in the United States.

One of my favorite pieces is the green Venetian Glass Earrings sold online at Neiman Marcus, hammered into 19-karat yellow gold settings. The intricate designs in the glass paired with the yellow gold make these earrings rare and timeless, and will definitely be a conversation starter.

If you are looking for something beautiful and unique you will definitely be able to find a piece of jewelry that stands out from Elizabeth Locke Jewels.

24-Karat Gold Jewelry with GURHAN

GURHAN's jewelry has been adorning lavish ball gowns and ensembles for over 15 years. The illustrious gold karat pieces have landed in the heart of the American fashion industry. In 1997, Gurhan left his stable jewelry boutique in Bodrum, Turkey, for New York City. It is here where his jewelry flourished, being worn my plenty of cultural icons of America.

Gurhan revitalized the practice of using pure gold to make jewelry. Originally, when learning about the art of jewelry making, his instructors warned him against the habit because pure gold was too soft to use for jewelry. The beautiful aspect about Gurhan’s jewelry is that each piece is hand made from scratch, preserving the natural folds and coils of the pure gold. Gurhan’s philosophy is culminated in his quotes, “First, I dream the woman, then, I create the jewelry”.

Due to his creative eye, Gurhan has maintained a stable stake in high fashion jewelry. Gurhan has been spotted on Sandra Bullock, Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie, and Faith Hill. In 2011 Gurhan won the watches category in the Couture Design Awards. For the upcoming season, Gurhan is revisiting the roots of his ancient inspiration with lines titled Striking Gold, Naturally Organic, Mother Nature, and Relics Past. Each line preserves an earthy, ancient tone using the natural gold as a base for all the looks. Visit Gurhan’s new  collection to take a sneak peak of his enchanted, ancient, jewelry.

If you want to compliment your next evening look with GURHAN’s pure gold, you can purchase the jewelry at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, and Saks Fifth Avenue. The GURHAN Mixed-Metal Hammered Disc Necklace costs $950, but for a pair of GURHAN’s 24-karat yellow gold earrings it will cost $2,357. Men’s Spinner Rings Now Available at JustMensRings.com

Black Stainless Steel Spinner Ring

In keeping with Just Men’s Rings’ (JMR) commitment to offer the best new styles in men’s rings, the retailer is constantly adding more fashion rings to their endless inventory. With the addition of more men’s spinner rings, JMR expects to attract a larger audience of fashion-conscious men who like to accessorize with jewelry. Also known as “men’s spinning rings,” the enhanced collection now includes a number of unique designs, including themed rings for racing fans, bikers, “Lord of the Rings” fans and more. There are men’s spinner rings made from durable tungsten with a black ceramic center, mirrored tungsten spinner rings and bike chain spinner rings. The selection of men’s spinning rings at JMR is second-to-none, and they are made from the sturdiest metals.

Also known as Tibetan worry rings and prayer rings, men’s spinner rings consist of an inner band that is stationary and an outer band that spins freely around the outside. This unique design is perfect for men who are “fidgety” and need something to do with their hands during tense situations. According to JMR owner, Roy Devine, “Men often come to our site specifically seeking a certain spinner ring that they saw another man wearing. We rarely see men get that specific when they shop for men’s rings, but these unique rings seem to have a very loyal following among JMR clientele.”

In addition to their premium designer collections in gold, platinum, diamond, seranite and Argentium silver, JMR is known for their outstanding collection of fashion rings. Within the “fashion rings” category, men’s spinner rings are available in several different styles, including Christian rings, biker rings, tribal rings and Celtic knot rings. No other type of fashion ring offers so many choices, and JMR makes them very affordable too. Prices range from $14.95 for a stainless steel cross spinner ring up to $67.95 for a black ceramic and tungsten spinning ring. Some of the newest styles in this category include a white ceramic and tungsten design and a stainless steel concave ring, but there is a broad range of styles in between.

As prices for precious metals rise and jewelry buyers become more practical in their selections, men’s spinner rings are becoming even more popular at JustMensRings.com. Over the past seven years, owners Roy and Judy Devine have earned a solid reputation for offering men’s ring shoppers the best possible selection of traditional and alternative rings. This enhanced collection of men’s spinning rings is just another example of their tireless efforts.    Men’s spinner rings were among the first collections of fashion rings to really grab the attention of men from all walks of life. JMR now offers a range of styles, making it easy for every man to find a ring that suits them perfectly.

Men who are looking for a ring that is both fashionable and affordable will typically find what they want in JMR’s collection of men’s spinner rings. “At JMR, we often hear from customers who tell us about the hottest trends in men’s rings. This, plus our regular research on industry trends helps us stay aware of the latest collections,” says JMR co-owner Judy Devine. “Men’s spinner rings are in high demand, and we expect to add even more rings to this category over the coming months.” Women who are shopping for men’s rings as a gift will often find exactly what they’re looking for in men’s spinning rings. As JMR continues to expand their inventory in this area, their customers will keep coming back for more.

Men's Jewelry Trend: Man-gagement Rings

undefined

It has been easy to tell when a woman is planning on getting married because there is usually a sparkly rock on her left ring finger, but it has been more difficult to tell if a man is married until after the big event has happened. Well times are definitely changing because “man-gagement” rings are being spotted on men’s left ring fingers.

Women won the right to vote almost a century ago, have been through several feminist rights movements, and right now many women are fighting for their family planning rights. This new engagement ring trend is giving relationships a new sense of equality.

What may seem foreign to us has been common in other countries for many years. Men and women in many other countries around the world have adopted this idea, however, it has been common tradition in the United States for only the woman to wear an engagement ring.

This new trend is also opening the door for women to pop the question and is perfect for same-sex couples. Women now can feel that by being the one to pop the question she can seal the promise with a ring on his finger as well as on hers. Additionally, this allows same-sex male couples to use engagement rings to seal their engagement.

Jewelers are starting to design these man-gagement rings (or are they just wedding bands that men start wearing early?) and many couples are quite keen on the idea. So whether is be diamond encrusted, gold, or stainless steal you are going to start seeing man-gagement rings more and more.

David Yurman Cable Coil Jewelry Collection

Jewelry is something we use to make ourselves stand out, express our personality, and add beauty. More often than ever we are seeing artists and others trying to design their own jewelry and turning it into art. David Yurman is no exception. Known and renowned for his wire-like cable style jewelry, David Yurman is twisting and weaving his way into 2012 with his new cable coil collection. His designs, original patterns and ideas will be sure to stop you and others in their tracks and be left to wonder how he did it.

This collection is not for the reserved. They are bold, intricate and meant to be noticed. The line features earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings. Although not all the pieces Yurman makes include diamonds, this line does. The small diamonds are set in darkened silver throughout the jewelry. There doesn’t appear to be any pattern or reasoning behind the placement of the diamonds. It is like it could be something beautiful you found lying naturally in the earth. The darkened silver makes a stunning backdrop for the diamonds. It has an appearance of being coiled and then wrapped around itself to make detailed designs.

This is high-end jewelry and you can expect to pay between $1,000 and $2,000 per item, but what you get in return is more than worth it. The Two-Row Statement bracelet has two rows of cable coil silver with set diamonds. Simpler designs (although nothing in this line is simple) are the cable coil earrings, which are darkened silver, diamonds and moon quartz. Additionally, there are cable wrap gemstones, as well. To see more of this collection and others from David Yurman visit www.davidyurman.com.

Jewelry with a Tribal Flare by Liz Mannette

In search of a feminine, yet elegant jewelry line that fits right with the eclectic tribal jewelry trend this spring? You know, the type that accentuates any outfit yet deviates from the traditional and plain qualities of most jewelers. Check out the steel drum inspired jewelry line by Liz Mannette, This jewelry designer hails from Trinidad and Tobago, perfectly crafting every piece from that initial artistic and tribal inspiration of the steel drum.

Each line of Liz Mannette’s collection is based upon a Caribbean acoustic instrument. For instance, the Movement Racks line is based upon push carts for the transportation of instruments. This line aesthetically fuses the two-tone bars of silver and gold to create the tribal feel. A Movement Rack necklace costs approximately $1,200. Another one of Liz Mannette’s lines is the Classic and Calypso Hoops, which reflects the artistic concepts of the steel pan instruments. These pieces feature hoops with symmetric complex designs, laced around the inner area of the piece. This classic hoop bracelet costs about $250 to accentuate your eclectic spring ensemble.

Liz Mannette’s designs are given as lavish gifts to political figures in Trinidad and Tobago and the United States. They have also adorned many celebrities on the red carpet and have supplemented the look of many international company executives. While most of Liz Mannette’s design retailers are located in the Caribbean, her domestic locations are located in New York, and Phoenix, Arizona.

Verdura is the brand fit for royalty, reminiscing the old Hollywood glamour that is a symbol of American culture. While the eclectic, tribal style is hot this spring, you may want to preserve your inner queen and rock some of these pieces by Verdura. The Caged Earclips, an “Essential” piece, holds a cultured pearl, enclosed in a 18k yellow gold cage that can be used as a staple piece of a jewelry collection. Unique Jewelry with a Vintage Feel from Mars and Valentine

A good piece of jewelry gives any outfit some extra sass or adds a little something extra but a great piece of jewelry starts a conversation. Add a splash of turquoise to your favorite plain white tee and jean jacket or an intricately detailed and vintage looking bracelet to your favorite black dress with your most cherished pieces of jewelry.

Mars and Valentine “jewelry for the modern goddess” designs pieces that you will not be able to take your eyes off of. Their pieces are designed to look vintage and timeless and will be the topic of a conversation wherever you wear your Mars and Valentine piece.

With jewelry ranging from $145 to $850 there is something special for everyone. The Mars and Valentine ‘Twilight Mystery’ Bracelet was inspired by the night sky and is delicately made with freshwater pearls and Japanese-pressed glass (pictured). The Mars and Valentine ‘Heaven & Earth – Transcendent’ Ring is another one of my favorites. The brass beads and blue pearls outline a beautifully dyed agate stone and the brass detail on the ring makes this piece incredibly unique. Lastly, the Mars and Valentine ‘Heaven & Earth – Tectonic’ Pendant Necklace is beautifully designed with three beaded strands, gold freshwater pearls, and again the beautifully dyed agate.

Add some sophistication to your outfit with a vintage and unique piece of jewelry from Mars and Valentine. Feel like a goddess and shop your favorite pieces at Nordstrom and check out the slideshow of the unique pieces on their website. Do you have any jewelry from Mars and Valentine? Alessandra Ambrosio Poses Nude for Vivara Jewelry Ad

 undefined

Thanks to Demi Moore, we're seeing more and more celebrities following in her footsteps and taking the "pregnant and naked" photo opps. This time it is Victoria's Secret model, Alessandra Ambrosio, posing naked and baring only diamond jewelry and gemstones in an advertisement for Brazilian jewelry company, Vivara

While the ad is tastefully done and has impeccable timing with Mother's Day soon upon us, I can't quite understand the fascination with naked pregnant celebrities and how it translates to sales. What are your thoughts on this ad and others like it? Tweet us @PierceMattiePR.

Cara Accessories to Complement Your Summer Wardrobe

Jewelry can be sophisticated and classy, timeless and vintage, or fun and flirty.  This is one of my favorite aspects of jewelry – the options are endless.  Beautiful pieces of jewelry are created with different metals, beads, colors, and textures and all pieces can be worn hundreds of different ways.  Jewelry gives us the option to enhance ours style in different ways every single day.

Cara Accessories is no exception.  Cara Accessories is definitely fun and flirty, but they also offer a few more sophisticated options.

A few of my favorite pieces:

Metal & Crystal Bangles: these bangles come in gold, silver, and tri-tone and add some fun and flirt to any outfit. Add some sparkle and texture to your look!

Leather Wrap Cuff: this cuff is fashion forward and super comfortable on your wrist. The leather is high quality and comes in black with gold hardware, cream with gold hardware, grey with silver hardware, or luggage brown with gold hardware.

Semiprecious Oval Pendant Necklace: this feminine necklace will add a little something to a simple outfit. It may be hard to pick a color, as it comes in coral, grey, light pink, tigers eye, and turquoise, but you will not go wrong.

You may not be able to walk into a “Cara” store, as they sell direct to stores, but you can find all of their jewelry and various scarves and headbands at Nordstrom, and on ShopStyle or Polyvore.

How do you use jewelry to enhance your look? Let us know @PierceMattiePR.

Sustainable Fine Jewelry with Alberto Parada

Have you ever been to South America? Its breathtaking natural beauty are the inspiration behind Alberto Parada's sustainable jewelry pieces. Although born in the US, Parada spent much of his youth in South America (where his parents are from.) And aren't our childhood memories our strongest source of inspiration?

Each piece of jewelry only contains reclaimed gold and fair trade gemstones, and as Parada is from the US, all pieces are handcrafted and manufactured here as well.

All of the jewelry is very unique, mixing different colored metals and gemstone shapes. You'll find white, yellow and rose gold, along with conflict-free diamonds and precious gemstones. While his Modern collection is colorful and beautiful, I especially like his Maximus collection (ring pictured is from this collection.)

Celebrities Do it. Vajazzling Body Bling Trend

It was about 2 years ago that Jennifer Love Hewitt told George Lopez she vajazzled, which started a global trend among women to bejewel just above their lower region. While some women get tattoos on their lower back, others are getting Swarovski crystals on their lower abdomen for a little less permanent fashion statement.

Hewitt is back in the news again for talking about her vajazzled body last week at a promotional event for A & E's The Client List, of which Hewitt stars in. Going two years strong, adding a little bling to your nether region doesn't seem to be dying down.

Vajazzling, the art of glued Swarovski cystals to freshly waxed skin, is said to last about 3-5 days. Wearing loose clothing while vajazzled is said to make it last longer without rubbing the crystals off, however I don't know how sexy I'd feel wearing my sweats while vajazzled. Doesn't that take away from the whole point?

There are an incredible amount of spas that do vajazzling, many are here in NY. Spa Week has a video with The Luxury Spot's Bryce (Gruber) Hermon showing how it's done.  Have you vajazzled or have you considered it?
