Fashion Media: Photographer Charles Tracy

This economy seems to spawn creativity when it comes to cross-promotional campaigns. Enter something truly eye catching in a unique environment benefiting a charitable cause and you have the formula for success. Such as with famed fashion photographer, Charles Tracy, and his cross-promotional effort at WolfHome showcasing 50 years worth of photography as an accent to Wolf's home decor and textiles all in an effort to raise money for and promote cancer research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Tracy, whose sister Ruby passed away from cancer, is utilizing the space at Wolf Home to display his infamous works of art. All pieces are paired through color with the decor at Wolf Home. The staging allows for customers to not only appreciate Tracy's photography, but to also envision it as a piece in their home.

Charles Tracy's photography ranges in price from $2K-$5K and can be viewed through December 24th and then again after the holidays beginning January 6th.For complete info. see www.wolfhomeny.com.

Outerwear Fashion PR Trends: Structured and Fitted Jackets and Pea Coats

A big trend that we’ve been seeing, with the development of the colder weather, is statement jackets - for men and women. A variety of women’s outerwear is designed to become the outfit, not just cover it up. A good example of this is the rise of trench coats like the Vena Cava dark green trench, and the increasing popularity of structured coats like Betsey Johnson’s Legomutton Coat.

The puffy and oversized jacket trend has been pushed to the wayside with the climb of these structured jackets. This trend amplifies your perfect structure and shape, which is ultimately way more flattering than an inflated coat.

These fitted jackets are designed in a large variety to fit everyone’s ideal fashion style. Some really popular styles right now are patterned coats, like Betsey Johnson’s Peplum Jacket.

Another outwear trend is the pea coat - this has been around for a while and doesn’t seem to be leaving us anytime soon. The pea coat is flattering and can be designed to contain warmth - which all of us appreciate in a winter coat! A few of my favorite pea coat designs are the Howell Pea Coat by Wilfred/Artizia, the Pins and Needles Faux Fur Peacoat from Urban Outfitters, and even the grey wool double breasted pea coat for men by Calvin Klein.

What is your favorite jacket trend this season? Tweet us @PierceMattiePR.

Floral Jewelry Trend 2012 with Lanvin Jewelry

Full floral arrangements…to singular flowers…anything pertaining to petals is what’s modish in the midst of many jewelers at this time.  Keeping up with the floral jewelry trend this year doesn’t necessarily require the purchase of loud and kitschy pieces.

Essentially we want to keep our accessory medley a mixture of ornate and basic fundamentals.  I have selected a few adored pieces from Lanvin.

Favorite Florals:

Brooch Asymmetric Flower ($1,145): Its asymmetric shape exudes a sense of innate, elegant style, rather than a stiff facade attempting to achieve perfection.  Brooches are not merely for the ripened.  I deem that this particular jewelry genre (brooch) and style (floral) one of the most imperative in effort to complete a classically beautiful ensemble.

Petals Necklace ($795): With this overly long, brass chain, play with the option of doubling your necklace into a completely different look.  The horde of polyester flowers, topped with pearls creates a girlish looking pale pink bouquet around the neckline.  Dress it up, or dress it down.  Any solid, basics (black, gray, white, crème, etc.) would pair well this unique piece.

Petals Necklace ($685): This petals necklace alternative is creates more of a single petal motif, in contrast to a cluster or bouquet motif.   Available in off-white or plum, either pallets accent any wardrobe basics such as the aforementioned color choices.

When we think floral, it’s only habitual to think gaudy, when this isn’t essentially spot on.  Try something different with these a la mode pieces by Lanvin.

How do you feel about the floral jewelry trend?  Let us know @PierceMattiePR.

Jewelry PR: Wear Your Music Raises Over 60,000 Dollars for Charity in 2011

Wear Your Music, the creators of the Original Artist Bracelet, succeeded in donating over 60,000 dollars to charity in 2011. The Original Artist Bracelet is custom-made from the intertwined guitar strings of music icons with profits donated to individual musicians' charities of choice.

Over 150 artists including modern favorites Jason Mraz, John Mayer and Jack Johnson, classic legends like Eric Clapton, Pete Townsend and Gregg Allman and country music icons like Dolly Parton and Tim McGraw are donating their strings to create The Original Artist Bracelets.

"We created this company in 2007 when we noticed that musicians were just tossing away their used guitar strings," explains Hannah Garrison, Co-Founder of Wear Your Music. "We wanted to use these guitar strings to make a difference by recycling a piece of rock memorabilia to create bracelets for fans. We took it a step further and decided to donate the proceeds from the sale of the Artist Bracelet to the musician's charity of choice."

Wear Your Music has sold over 1000 artist bracelets in 2011 alone.

"People are becoming more socially conscious," continues Garrison. "This fuels our success and allows us to make an even bigger difference."

Jewelry PR: Larson Jewelers Introduces New Extra Wide Tungsten Ring Style

Extra Wide tungsten Ring

LarsonJewelers.com, the leading online retailer of tungsten rings, announced today they have expanded their extra wide tungsten rings line from Thorsten Rings. The increase in styles is due to popular demand. The extra wide line is ideal for men or women who prefer a bolder look that comes with an exceptionally wide tungsten carbide ring.

Due to the people’s preference for wider rings these days, couples have been responding very positively to this line. “We have had many customers ask us to increase the number of styles in our 10 mm and 12 mm tungsten carbide rings line, and we listened,” says Jonathan Larson, founder of LarsonJewelers.com.

Larson Jewelers is proud to be the first to carry a 10 mm wide tungsten and black ceramic ring. We all know that tungsten is prized for its extreme hardness and scratch resistance. However, few people know that ceramic, which is non-metallic, is also known for its scratch resistance and durability. Ceramic is a new light weight material that is becoming more and more popular to use in jewelry making. When combined with tungsten, it makes the jewelry piece have a more balanced weight feel, which makes the ring, not too light and not too heavy. Black ceramic is black all the way through, so even if you manage to scratch it, it will not be easy to see. Black tungsten is a coating, so if scratched, you will see the silver tungsten color underneath. This is a major advantage of black ceramic. Sizes range from 6.0 to 14.0 to accommodate any man’s finger size and most common women’s sizes. Wide rings aren’t just for men with larger finger sizes. Many people prefer the look a wide ring on their hand and with tungsten’s affordability such a big ring will not cost an arm and a leg.

Although these rings are wider than normal, they are by no means uncomfortable. Thorsten Rings, the manufacturer, has carefully designed these rings to ensure they don’t feel bulky and uncomfortable. They have managed to machine these rings into a sleek style and they are made in comfort-fit design, which means the inside of the rings are rounded so the inner edges of the ring won’t dig into your fingers after long periods of wear. They also come with an industry leading lifetime warranty that all Thorsten Rings come with, which covers everything from size exchanges to full replacement in case of accidental damage. As always, there are no additional fees charged to customers to use the lifetime warranty.

heart and key necklace

One could say that Los Angeles jewelry designer Aneela Manori leads a semi-precious, charmed life. The number of shops that now carry her stunning gold and sterling silver jewelry nearly doubled last year—and Manori feels good about 2012.

In 2011, Manori made a big splash on the East Coast, introducing her line of sterling silver and exotic raw stones this year at Flock Boston, Pure Barre, Felicity Sweets, and ABRANO Silver in the Boston Area.

“Boston is a wonderful town, and it’s very flattering to have these wonderful retailers representing the London Manori jewelry line,” said Manori, owner of London Manori. “I am very grateful for the partners I have found in Boston and in Southern California, and for the surge in demand for my jewelry line.”

NYC-Based Jewelry: Lee Angel

Any outfit can be good, but the right accessories make an outfit great. Shopping for jewelry can be exhilarating and anyone can own a jewelry box full of amazing pieces, but it takes a true fashionista to be able to accessorize the right way.

Lee Angel makes that easy with all of their beautiful pieces. Based in SoHo, Lee Angel is right in the middle of the fashion world, making it easy to develop new ideas and trends. Lee Angel, created by Roxanne Assoulin, has been featured in major magazines here in the United States and throughout the rest of the world and has been a hit accessory on the runway.

Lee Angel does a beautiful, artistic job of being casual and fun, yet daring and fashion forward. One of the best things about Lee Angel is that all age groups who strive to find beautiful jewelry to complete their look can wear these pieces.

One of my favorite pieces is the Desiree Large Collar Necklace. It is the best chunky necklace to polish off any simple outfit and would go so well with a pair of skinny jeans, flats, and a button up blouse (with the necklace under the collar!)

Another favorite piece is the Martine Gunmetal Crystal Bracelet. The hardness of the gunmetal and the softness of the crystal make this piece very unique and beautiful, leaving it is edgy and girly at the same time.

A great everyday piece is the Lilliana Crystal Button Earrings. They are a beautiful replacement to the everyday pair of studs as they offer more detail and intricacy and you are bound to get many compliments on them.

Check out Lee Angel to find your statement jewelry pieces to take your favorite outfit from good to great! What’s your favorite statement piece? Let us know @PierceMattiePR

Men's Wedding Band Trend: Verragio's Textured Metals

Lets face it: When you are getting married and you mention to your guy that it's time to go ring shopping for him, it might be an easier task to move a mountain. Ultimately he will probably just let his bride-to-be pick out the ring for him. Most men don’t know anything about jewelry and they are fine with that. Wedding rings all look the same (in an untrained man's mind anyway.) Verragio for men has created textured metal wedding bands that allow for more self-expression and individuality. You might even be able to get him to want to go check them out with you.

These rings are very cool because they are not just a chunk of metal wrapped around your finger. They have personality. They feature classic designs with cutting edge technology. Some have smooth lines running around the ring, some have intricate crisscrossing patterns and for those who want to keep it simple some are smooth on top with designs in the side. There is something for everyone and every style. Women spend a lot of time picking out the perfect ring. They want to be individual and unique. Verragio textured metal rings allow men to do the same. Who doesn’t want to be the guy with that cool ring that people are talking about?

These bands are good-looking and unique but they are quality made too, which means they are going to last. Each ring comes in palladium, gold and platinum. Tell us your favorite designs @PierceMattiePR

High Chi Energy Jewelry: Ancient Ideas with Modern Style

Jewelry has long been sought after to make us look beautiful and establish our individuality. Men have dug in the earth for the precious metals and stones that make up the most sought after jewelry today all for the sake of beauty. What if the jewelry you were wearing could do more than just make you look beautiful? What if it would benefit your health emotionally, mentally and physically?

The designers of High Chi Energy Jewelry believe that the biggest pollution problems are harmful electromagnetic fields, which are produced by any electrically charged device. They believe these have negative effects on the human body. The idea is based on ancient Egyptian philosophies regarding good and bad energy. High Chi “energizes” the jewelry’s metal to help defend against negative energy. After 15 years of research it has become more than just jewelry, it is about healing for them too.

It might sound like something out of this world, especially in a western culture, but High Chi jewelry is beautiful regardless. The geometric patterns make it look like something straight from the ancient Egyptian culture. High Chi is the perfect accessory to add variety to your jewelry collection. High Chi offers rings, earrings, pendants, necklaces and men’s jewelry. If you are looking for something new or just different you will surely be able to find something to fit your specific personality at www.highchi.com. Who knows, maybe you will experience some inner healing too.
