Los Angeles/Bali based designer, Lena Bernard, started making jewelry over 15 years ago and has perfected her craft in Florence, Italy. Lena first started her career as a ceramic and stone sculpture artist until she found her passion in gold and silver smithing. From that point onwards, she began making gold and silver jewelry incorporating her diverse cultural upbringing and curiosity. Her designs are a reflection of her personal travels and global influences.
Born in Sweden, raised in Malibu, studied in London and Florence, she currently resides in Bali, Indonesia. In her Summer 2010 collection, Lena Bernard’s designs are very tribal/ethnic inspired and based largely on the immense influence of Bali. “I get so much inspiration living in Bali with all the artistic techniques that are centuries old. Bali lets me create without limits, the real world is so far away… my back yard is a rice field, I see volcanoes out of my windows, black sand beaches are 10 minutes away & I have Hindu ceremonial offerings on my doorstep… I’m aw-struck everyday!” Lena says.
Since her jewelry line inception, Lena's jewelry has been featured in magazines such as Italian Vogue & People StyleWatch and even worn by celebrities like Fergie, Lauren Conrad, and Kate Hudson. At age of 25, Lena has been internationally recognized as a “designer to watch.” Her collections are found on several online sites (such as www.revolveclothing.com). Items are priced at $33- $120.
