Jewelry Cause Marketing: Mary J. Blige and Gucci Partner for Awareness of Battered Women

An unstoppable collaboration between R & B icon, Mary J. Bilge and luxury retailer, Gucci, is promoting social awareness for battered women. Gucci's partnership with Blige’s Center for Women in association with the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, hopes to draw attention to the cause with a limited edition watch. Hoping to educate, empower and encourage, Blige spoke from the heart and was quoted as saying, “As a child I never saw a confident woman- I only saw women being abused...there was so much pain growing up – it would have been in vain if I didn’t put myself out there.”

Gucci’s presence behind Blige’s social responsibility speaks volumes, portraying the message that “fashion isn’t just about clothes and accessories – it’s about being involved with initiatives like this one,” says Gucci’s Creative Director Frida Giannini. Giannini designed a limited edition woman’s stainless steel twirl watch, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now.

With a retail value of $1,895, the watch is available at Gucci stores, Gucci.com and in select department stores.
