Jewelry PR: DANNIJO Jewelry

dannijo_jewelry_ringThough barely a year old, jewelry line DANNIJO has already made quite an impression. In 2008, the sisters Danielle and Jodie Snyder came together to make edgy, statement pieces with a rock ‘n’ roll influence. Their line is all handmade with hints of uptown sophistication with a raw downtown flair. The DANNIJO sisters have taken from their unique personalities to create evolving fashion trends of both the past and present. The jewelry is designed for fun loving, free- spirited and passionate women everywhere and is inspired from their travels, photography, architecture, art, film, music and vintage.

Their jewelry really seems flow even with all that is going on with the different materials they use, but the way it is carefully crafted and designed looks amazing. I was very impressed with the diamond-set quarts and pyrite stone cocktail rings and necklaces, which are so elegantly different and give off such a luminous effect. They really seem to know the definition of great statement pieces.

Their strands of purple freshwater coin pearls paired with purple chains really caught my eye as well. They use a mix of Swarvorski Crystals, colored pearls, coin, semi-precious stones, amethyst, turquoise, gunmetal and brass in a lot of their pieces. One of the other nice things about their collection is that they allow you to custmize by allowing the customer to pick out the color setting they want (if crystals) as well as if they want gold or silver. Some of their pieces might not be for me, but that is the whole point, they have such variety of different looks that appeal to a range of jewelry lovers everywhere.

According to Jodie, “With the launch of DANNIJO, we are finally able to offer women statement pieces they can personally interpret and incorporate into their own style. Our pieces don’t target an age group, but an attitude of a confident, stylish, easy going woman."

Their jewelry also goes to good causes. Danielle is co-founder of LWALA —a youth-based, non-profit initiative that employs the use of fashion, film and music to convey its message: “Live With A Life-long Ambition.” They fundraise to provide initiatives in African communities with an opportunity for growth and development (See www.lwala.org for more details).

Great jewelry and a great cause? My online shopping bag is already full! DANNIJO jewelry is handmade in New York and is sold at select, high-end stores and boutiques around the country including Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel, and Calypso. DANNIJO pieces have been featured on hit shows such as Gossip Girl and are worn by celebrities Natalie Portman, Blake Lively and more. Are you a fan of these new design sisters?
