I'm starting to wonder will we ever see the sun? With the weather being how it has been, going for a run or even walk outside is completely out of the question. So, I’ve been wondering how I can fit exercise into my daily schedule without having to worry about the weather? I've settled upon at-home yoga after reading a recent issue of Shape Magazine.
Shape Magazine offers you five pieces of advice: Study first, plan wisely, equip yourself, get warm and start slow. If you learn the basics from a seasoned expert (and make sure you’ve got it right), you can then take those moves and move your one-hour session into your own living room.
Sure, it seems simple, but simple becomes complicated when you do a position incorrectly and can’t move your neck for a week (not that I know from personal experience or anything…) So, before attempting your do-it-yourself yoga session, be sure that you know positions, and know how to do them properly, to avoid hurting yourself. Exercise is supposed to be fun, not painful, right? Some great instructional yoga DVDs worth purchasing are Yoga Shakti, Kundalini Yoga and Power Yoga.
It’s affordable (which is a great concept these days), easy and convenient. So, next time you’re depressed about being cooped up inside on a rainy day, limited in your exercise options, just lay down your mat and power up with some yoga.
