NIKE iD: Fusing Fitness with Fashion

NIKE iD, launched in 2000, has come to help fitness fanatics, such as myself, add fun and frivolity to their workout. The line allows buyers to customize NIKE sneakers of their own, running the gamut from baseball and soccer shoes, to action sports. NIKE’s concept has been able to create a fusion between fitness and fashion, where the buyer becomes the designer, customizing the colors, materials and adding personal iD’s to his or her sneakers. The line also includes equipment and clothing, ranging from t-shirts to digital watches to track your workout progress, as well as showcase your personal style at the gym.

Currently carrying over 150 items on the website and two flagship stores in New York, users can customize a variety of different products, including the ever popular NIKE Shox and Jumpman Team Pro. The products can be customized depending on a clients needs, and are available in separate left and right foot sizes, as well as wide and narrow sizing, to ensure maximum performance and satisfaction. Creating a signature style and workout routine have never been easier, allowing the buyer to customize the look, feel and performance of the product, with NIKE’s signature guarantee for quality.

The products take up to four weeks for delivery, but it sure is worth the wait! By adding some color to my workout routine, I’ve been more eager to put my creativity to the pavement, as have workout junkies cum designers across the globe. This revolutionary idea has now spread to other sneaker lines, such as Converse and Vans, but has managed to stay unique by introducing collections, such as the Zoom Kobe IV iD, and graphic prints for your kicks. Few other brands have been able to combine functionality and freedom of choice as streamlined as the NIKE brand has, making the motivation easier to get out the door and to the gym, and turning the treadmill into your runway.
