Jewelry trends for Spring 2010 include the sometimes underrated bangle bracelet. Designers this year have found ways to make bracelets demand attention through large gemstones and embellishments. The style this season is more along the lines of a bold and very overstated elegance. Just as we've been seeing with statement rings and bib necklaces (which to me is really making a statement at its core and something Ranjana Khan excels at), bangle bracelets are now taking their place as a must-have accessory for Spring.
An embellishment doesn't necessarily mean large stones or multi-dimensional designs as
evidenced by Ranjana Khan's Crystal and Flower bracelet. It stands out with its simplicity and delicate fabric flower. The accent of the white ribbon underneath adds a touch of femininity.
Giles & Brother's Spike Bangle trio again resonates simplicity times three. Rhinestones of popping fuschia mixed with an edgy silver and spike design says comes across as a woman with an edge.
My favorite, though, has got to be Alexis Bittar's lucite bangles. To me, lucite exemplifies weight and strength, and with Bittar balancing this strength with crystals and rose gold plating such as seen in his Secret Garden Bracelet, it showcases that a woman can be both powerful and soft at the same time.
