Pierce Mattie: Has the economy had an impact on the design of men’s bathing suits from this year to last?
Fabiano DeMoraes: As we at T Fabiano keep control of designing, manufacturing and selling directing to our customers world wide we are able to keep production and prices unaffected by the economy.
Pierce Mattie: At T Fabiano you design many different cuts; square, army, brief, jersey, bikini, etc. Which is the most popular?
Fabiano DeMoraes: As a designer, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro- Brasil, I must say that the Brazilian Army Cut is one of the most popular styles, especially in Brasil. As I design for all continents my product comes in a wide variety of styles, to fit all kinds of body types and tastes. The Bikini style and the Olympic Swim Cut are also popular. The square cut could be more conservative, if not a low rise cut.
Pierce Mattie: For a guy who is looking to appear thinner than he really is, what pattern of fabric, cut of suit and style of swimsuit would you suggest?
Fabiano DeMoraes: Dark colors, not too many patterns, and basically sporty styles are always a plus and the safe way to dress to the beach. The Brazilian Army Cut and the Olympic Swim styles are always very flattering, comfortable and masculine.
