Inauguration Fashion Trends

BOEvite.png Popular party invitation site Evite.com has a special section dedicated to making invitations for your inauguration party! With history being made, people are preparing to celebrate like crazy. On the web, there is still wild speculation about the style of the first lady’s dress for the event. If you’re not going to be in Washington during the welcoming of President Barack Obama, it doesn’t mean you get to slack on your wardrobe at your Inauguration Day party. Your inauguration fashion statement should be about glam and glory. Dress up and show no sign of our faltering economy!

For women, I recommend bright colors and metallics. Take a look at this Sue Wong Shimmer Picture%202.pngMetallic Satin Pleated Skirt Gown complete with beaded bodice and pleated bra.  Project confidence in your style as we are ushering in a new era. We are embracing an adventure and a vision for the future, this is fashion and style inspired by hope. In any case, overdress!

Your dress should show some skin, if only a peek of a shoulder or an arm. This is not the occasion for platinum blonde hair, lush red lips and skin-tight gowns. Make sure to show off your assets, even if it's something as simple as thick hair, white teeth or nice legs. Be proud!

For men, I recommend sticking to the same rules. Bright colors and metallics, yet keeping it conservative all at the same time. This classy Yves Saint Laurent Jacket has a nice patriotic blue to it.

Many people will be holding parties on Inauguration day and your fashion statement will be heard as they ring in the new presidency. Having an inaugural party is different than your traditional get together - watching the inauguration will create a memory for a lifetime. What will you be wearing?
