Fashion Trend: Wedding Inspired Formal Dresses

There is a fashion trend that has been peeking out here and there this past year--celebrities wearing gowns down the red carpet that look very similar to a wedding gown. Have you noticed this too? Ever since we dumped the cliche of not wearing white after labor day, it sort of became the segway to allow this trend to emerge.

My question is, can it be easily translated to everyday people going to events without being asked if they are getting married? Do you automatically think "bride" when you see gowns like this worn for events other than on the wedding day?

What do you think of this fashion trend? Glamorous? Or save it for the big day?
