Celebrity Style at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala

I am always excited for the red carpet events: the Oscars, the Golden Globes and sometimes even the Emmy’s. Although I am anxious to see who the winners are, I am most interested in the answer to the most overused phrase of the evening, “Who are you wearing?” Of all the big events throughout the year, none have the cache and fashion excitement as the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Gala.

Here are some of my favorite and least favorite fashion choices of the evening:

Whether you love her or hate her, Victoria Beckham is always a risk taker. I am sort of in-love with this unique and fabulous look!

There are not many times in your life (even for a celebrity) that you can pull off something this extravagant – can’t blame Eva Longoria for going all out!

Christina Ricci has been looking so gorgeous lately and this dress fits her perfectly.

Maybe Amber Valletta’s dress just doesn’t photograph well, but I just can’t get into this cape.

I love Naomi Watts, but I am not so thrilled with this dress. I get that it’s Thierry Mugler and that the theme was “Super Heroes”, but the star isn’t working for me.

Regardless of my immediate reactions, I have to say that I would kill to wear any of those dresses for even 5 minutes. Last night the event definitely brought seriously excitement into the 2008 fashion repertoire.

I so adore Victoria Beckham's style, even when I hate it :)

Eva has such a great style. She also has the class to pull off the more vintage style outfits that make others look like "wannabes"
