Lauren Conrad, star of The Hills and formerly Laguna Beach, debuted her first collection co-designed with Tart designer Sherry Wood on Tuesday at Smashbox Studios. Prior to the show, LC’s collection was picked up by hundreds of boutiques across the country. Lauren’s collection is a great representation of her personality – fun, flirty, and casual. All of the pieces were very airy and versatile making it easy to transition them from day to night with the right accessories. Lauren featured a color palette that predominately included plums, olives, whites, and of course her signature black. The designs very much reminded me of something that can be found in Scoop or Pookie and Sebastian in New York. FIDM has clearly taught Lauren how to make staples that real women can wear everyday.

The fashion show attendees included tons of her Hills friends as well as former Laguna Beach rival Kristen Cavallari. I’m not completely sold Lauren inviting Kristen was an act of kindness and not just a great publicity stunt to gain press for the show. If it was an act of kindness, then good for you Lauren for beating the childish rumors and truly showing a sign of maturity.
