Jason Wu is an amazingly talented young fashion designer. I was able to not only go backstage to watch the magic of MAC Cosmetics makeup artist Romy Soleimani and the mastery of the hair team Bumble and Bumble, but I also had the opportunity to watch Jason Wu's fragmented backstage pieces suddenly all come together on the runway. It was amazing and beautiful.
Jason Wu was able to make grays and blacks breathe life with sophistication along with jewel-toned colors that were reminiscent of the 1980's. Yet, instead of cringing my way through memories of the bubble gum color of my childhood, it was surprisingly welcomed. All of the clothing was completely wearable and could be applied to varying age groups. MAC's Romy Soleimani's starry eyed makeup look with Bumble and Bumble's crimped textured hair complimented Jason's Wu's vision, creating a modern day Jean Seberg. While backstage was crammed and chaotic (see a picture of me backstage on Coutorture), the runway show itself was light, fun and left you wanting more. See the entire collection on Style.com
