Ever get the feeling that everywhere you look lately there's another luxury designer handbag? Latest runway shoes? Hottest little dress from Milan or Paris? Well, you are not just reading too many issues of Life & Style. Luxury items have seen a huge surge in sales in the U.S.

Ok, you knew that if you live in NYC or L.A. - but guess what? Your sisters in Austin and Cleveland know it also! That's right luxury has runnith over! "Secondary Markets" as they are known by the media and industry planners, are ringing their registers just as fast as the Windy City or the Big Apple. Thats right, that latest Gucci or Chanel bag can be just as hard to find in Richmond, Virginia as it is on Rodeo Drive!
So what markets qualify as secondary? I guess it's any town with a public transit system that you risk death by riding! The trend is so widespread that my sources tell me that TIME magazine is running a cover story on the phenomenon that will run during fashion week. You heard it here first! So RUN - don't walk to the next trunk show of your favorite designer or that Shoe, Dress, or Bag probably won't be on the shelf when you get down to the Mall. Unless of course you live in a GASP - Third rate market!!! AHHHHHHH.
