Beauty Brand to Watch 2010: Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics

Back in 2008, I was lucky enough to meet the very personable and savvy Pauline Youngblood Soli when she sat in on a seminar I was part of for ICMAD at the HBA Expo. I remember watching her stand patiently in line to speak with me and introduced herself by saying, "You might not know who I am, but..."

Naturally, I knew exactly who she was and I have long admired Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics. Not just because I honestly think she has a good product, but because I am one for loving true stories behind a brand's conception, and it was Soli's battle with cystic acne that prompted her to develop her mineral cosmetics line. Having a problem and creating a solution is the best beauty PR for a brand.

This is why I think Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics will be a brand to watch this year. While Youngblood has been around for 14 years, it is only in recent years that mineral cosmetics have become a staple in every woman's makeup bag (I can't possibly be the only one!) And with the recent buy out of Bare Escentuals for such an incredible amount of money, that tells me that the cosmetics industry is finally seeing the value of a mineral brand.

While Youngblood may be a cult favorite, 2010 will be the year that this brand gets more coverage and buzz going. Are you already a loyal fan of Youngblood? Tell us what you love about it.
