A new magazine dedicated to cosmetic surgery just launched at the beginning of this year. New You is the official magazine of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS). Editor J.P. Faber says that its mission is promotion of cosmetic surgery "so that people who are thinking about it today will take action tomorrow."

Potential patients often have many questions or reservations about cosmetic surgery that may prevent them from undergoing a procedure altogether. According to research from Synovate, Inc, the four main factors that keep people from undergoing cosmetic procedures are high price, fear of an unnatural result, pain, and fear of a poor outcome.

Faber says, "We are going to educate the public about cosmetic surgery so that they will feel informed and comfortable enough to make a decision. Our goal is to remove the most common fears surrounding cosmetic surgery – as well as making it more attractive. All we have to do to accomplish this is to show the work of AACS doctors."

The magazine welcomes submissions from any AACS member and their PR firms. "We are looking for ideas and cases, before and after pictures, and other real stories that reveal the true effectiveness of cosmetic surgery," says Faber.

New You will be available free to all Academy members and for sale to the general public.
