In general, most beauty products are luxury items; things you buy when you want to try something new or realized you've been using the same tube of mascara for half a year. In times like these, it's hard to justify spending money on beauty products. I can't seem to let myself buy that $25 mascara or the $50 eye cream anymore.
So lately, as I stroll the drugstore aisles, I've noticed products that I've never seen before. Not only that, the products that I've purchased work about as well as the products I spend up to five times as much on. So, which drugstore beauty products are the best for less?
Here are some drugstore beauty products I recommend:
Maybelline's Great Lash Mascara- I'd say if a product has been around for decades, it's probably a winner. My mom has used this mascara since she was my age, so I trust it. Great Lash is only $4.99 at most drugstores and sometimes you can get it in the 2-for-1 package for the same price. Maybelline calls it America's #1 mascara, and it won Allure magazine's best drugstore mascara award. It comes in black, brown, and blue.
Physician's Formula Organic Wear makeup- If there's an organic alternative for anything, I'll buy it. The full line of makeup products are not only good for your skin, but good for the environment. The line is certified by ECOCERT, which means that all aspects of production are environmentally friendly. The makeup is made with 100% certified organic ingredients, and the containers are made with 93% less plastic than traditional containers. That means no harmful synthetics. Plus, all the products are less than $14. There's no harm in that either!
Aveeno products- Aveeno is another product line that's been around for a while - about 60 years. These products have natural ingredients like soy and oatmeal. As an eczema sufferer, I've been using Aveeno to treat dry skin all my life. Colloidial oatmeal is a natural, fragrance-free moisturizer that is meant for people with sensitive skin and was even used by the Egyptians to soothe itchy skin. Aveeno now has a full product line including cleansers, soaps, and facial moisturizers.
Of course, there are too many quality products to mention. If you do your research, you can find many more great beauty products like these at your local drugstore. Do you buy drugstore products? If so, we'd love to know what you use.
