Stick-on Eyeshadow: How Does it Work?

stick-on eyeshadowHaving worked in a makeup studio, I've heard a lot of women lament about eyeshadow. Many had trouble putting it on in a good shape for their eye or even putting the right amount on. It is complicated. How do you know how much is enough or how much is too much? You can really only know by practice or having someone do it for you. So, what if the right amount of shadow and the shape was already done for you and you just had to apply it? That would be great right? But how? The answer is stick-on eyeshadow.

I've heard a lot about these, but never used them myself or known someone who could tell me about it. So, I decided to explore how stick-on eyeshadow works. It looks easy to apply and difficult to mess up. It would be a makeup miracle. But you know how you see infomercials for products and you ask yourself, "If this really worked wouldn't everyone would use it?" That's how I feel about stick-on eyeshadow. So, my real question is, if it's so simple, why isn't it more popular?

ColorOn Professional is one such beauty brand that offers instant eyeshadow. A pack of 20 applications is only $35 and you can customize your kit with whatever colors you like. They have some pretty color blends. Although, I would stay away from Leopard and Camouflage, but I suppose there is a market for it. ColorOn Professional claims that their stick-ons are "crease-proof." They also come with a setting powder that you apply after the shadow. You can buy the shadows online or in a retail store, such as Sephora.

As a whole, it seems quite simple. You really do just stick it on your eye. A video on their homepage gives tips on the best way to apply the stickers. There is one catch though: one size fits all. I suppose that you could just blend the shadow until it fits your eye shape. But there are so many different eye shapes, I feel like some women might not be able to use them. On the other hand, colorOn says their shape is universal. I guess you'll have to try it and see for yourself.

Maybe there hasn't been enough research done about stick-on eyeshadow for the popular makeup brands to pick it up. Or maybe "one size fits all" doesn't work for everything. Have you tried stick-on eyeshadow? Let us know how it worked for you.
