A new season has arrived and along with it comes new perfume. Avril Lavinge and Versace are both launching new fragrances within the next couple months. Avril's debut fragrance is named "Black Star" and comes from industry giants Procter & Gamble (also partnered with Christina Aguilera and Naomi Campbell) to produce not just a fragrance, but also an entire toiletries line including perfume, aftershave, bath oil, bath soap, shower gel, body shampoo, and body lotion.
The fragrance notes include pink hibiscus, black plum and dark chocolate. The perfume is targeted to appeal to girls aged 11 to 19 years old. Global marketing director for Procter & Gamble Prestige Products, Heike Hindenlang claimed “Young consumers love her — she has a very, very special relationship with her audience, we were looking for someone with global awareness, and she’s big everywhere.”
The perfume will range to sell from 16 Euros (about $21.80) for a 15-ml bottle, to 49 Euros ($66.70). Its launch will be in July in Europe, and be available in US and Canada later this year. This perfume is packaged in black and pink packaging which resembles Avril’s style. It will be interesting to follow if this new product line will be a success, and if so, if we will see more expansion to her new cosmetics empire.
Donatella Versace is launching Versace Versense this spring. Versace is using her favorite floral
scents and aromas for a Mediterranean feel. Versace describes this aroma as it "perfectly interprets the contrast between freshness and sexiness." The fragrance notes include bergamot, green mandarin, fig, sea lily, cardamom, jasmine, cedar, sandalwood, olive wood and musk, which creates a lighter and more contemporary floral fragrance.
The bottle immediately caught my attention, as it is simple, classic, and luxurious and decorated with traditional Versace symbols. The bright green color of the bottle looks very fresh and almost fills you with energy by looking at it. Versense will be available in the U.S. hitting stores April 10, and will be available at Nordstrom, Saks, Bloomindales's and Macy's. The 50ml eau de toilette retails for $65 and the 100ml retails for $85. The new eau de toilette is also accompanied with bath, body milk, and deodorant spray.
