Going to Xtremes

The concept of being totally “done up” has now reached our eye lids.

We’ve conquered the red carpet ready outfit, the hair extensions, the perfectly plumped lip…why not include eye lashes on that check list?

Nowadays, it’s rare that you see a celebrity on a red carpet without noticeably thicker and longer eye lashes. It’s customary for makeup artists to apply temporary, yet natural looking lash extensions in addition to makeup to the lash lines of Eva Longoria, Lindsay Lohan, J.Lo and so on. The result are totally glamorous, come-hither eyes that get men’s hearts racing and women’s faces green with envy.

Finally there is an option for the mere mortal who can’t have a makeup artist just pop over before a night on the town. Xtreme Lashes is a semi-permanent lash extension brand that offers the largest variety of lash lengths, thicknesses, and colors. Known for their incredibly natural-looking, long lasting sweepers, I decided I should finally indulge in a little lash therapy.

“Little” is not the appropriate adjective one would use to describe my new lashes.

My normally average brown eyes are now perfectly accented with full and thick, lengthy black lashes, highlighted with deep auburn tones (did I neglect to mention that Xtreme Lashes has color lash extensions too?)

I have not applied mascara in the two weeks since getting them applied. Friends look at me with that “I-know-you-did-something-but-what-is-it-that’s-so-fabulous-about-you-now” look. From that one treatment with a trained Xtreme Lashes professional, I have both revamped and pared down my beauty routine. I don’t have annoyingly messy mascara to remove or apply, yet my eyes always look done.

I have found the perfect beauty intersection where low maintenance and high impact meet.
