Hmm - might have been more convincing if you had tapped independents. We love The Cut, but it's part of a media powerhouse...
How about Kingdom of Style, (UK), Liberty London Girl - NY based, or Style Bubble - international - for three blogs with a point of view as opposed to news sites?

The Beauty Brains is an excellent site. Ok, perhaps I'm biased since I've guest blogged there. But that site is my go-to to check out new beauty discoveries and claims. I think they do what no other site does: clarify and dissect all the hyped up info about beauty products, while maintaining a playful attitude.
