The time has come. The long awaited Topshop in NYC opens this week (April 2 at 11am to be exact!) With so many push-backs, we were afraid they had changed their minds. First it was October then November then it was pushed back all the way to March. Well, now it's April, so get ready New Yorkers, prepare to revel in the glory that is UK's mass market megastore. Never again will you have to worry about whether the oversized knit sweater is oversized in a cool way or just plain big.
The new brick-and-mortar store is located on the corner of Broadway and Broome St. To celebrate the grand opening of the store, Topshop has planned some special events for shoppers. They provide in-store style advisors to help you make style-conscious selections and if you purchase $100 or more, you'll receive a limited-edition "Cool Britannia" tank top in return. Plus, there will be DJs providing tunes to shop to (subliminal messages will not be required.) Students: don't forget to bring your I.D. so you can get 10% off!
As if you didn't already know, the highly coveted Kate Moss Hearts Topshop collection will be debuting at the store as well. This collection sold out in three minutes in London, so don't expect to get your hands on it unless you camped out overnight. It's rumored that Kate herself will be there for the opening. If you actually did camp out, hopefully you signed up for an in-store, gratis makeover and manicure.
There are plans to open 12 to 15 more Topshop stores around the U.S., which we applaud them for bringing jobs to the U.S. job market. Visit the events page on the website for more information about the grand opening.
