You may have heard by now about 5 year old Jasmina Amena, the beautiful little girl who has a rare and aggressive form of Leukemia that is getting some much needed spotlight from Rihanna to help find a donor match for a bone marrow transplant. Jasmina's story is heartbreaking as the odds are against her as an adopted child but also because African-Americans are under-represented in the bone marrow donor bank. This story holds a special place in our hearts here at Pierce Mattie PR, as Jasmina's mother is a friend of our Vice President, Sonya Hartland. So we put our heads together...how can we help?
First and foremost, here in our Times Square office, we headed over to the donor drive at the beginning of February to sign up for the Donor Registry. But we are asking you to help us continue to spread the word to get potential donors out to the bone marrow drives!
Donor Drive for Jasmina Amena Saturday March 7th from 10am-2pm:
Public School 41 (116 W. 11th Street)
There is also a Facebook Group Event for it, so if you are already on Facebook be sure to also help spread the word to those you are connected to there by RSVP'ing that you will be attending (it will show on your profile and in your news feed to your friends list.)

I am currently on the Wisconsin Marrow Donor Program. I am not sure what needs to be done but if someone who is in charge of this site can e-mail me to let me know what I can do to see if I am a match please inform me.

I would love to see if I'm a match, but the link the request a home kit doesn't work. Hopefully this error will be corrected in time for others to help.

Hi everyone--thank you for your concern for Jasmina! Her website seems to be overloaded at the moment due to the amount of press coverage it is getting today. My best advice is to call DKMS at the # listed in the post above to find out how you can get a kit or get more information about how you can help.
