With Live Earth proving to be a huge success, having reached approximately two billion viewers worldwide, the Alliance for Climate Control, founded by Vice President Al Gore, has now aligned with Kiss My Face to help continue their unprecedented effort to convince people from all walks of life about the urgency and the solvability of the climate crisis.

Kiss My Face, the leaders in natural and organic products, has partnered with Whole Foods to launch their new Lip Action balms with the goal of raising $1 million dollars for the organization.

I had a chance to speak with Bob MacLeod, CEO of Kiss My Face, and Cathy Zoi, CEO of The Alliance for Climate Control. Here’s what they had to say.

Q: Can I call you Bob?

BOB: Sure, that is my name.

Q: What gave you the idea to launch a national fundraising effort?

BOB: Staring at my yellow wrist band was really the inspiration to raise money and awareness for global warming.

Q: Why a lip balm?

BOB: As small as they are, lip balms are used by millions of people around the globe daily, and having this little reminder can help make a big impact in our lives, and those of future generations.

Q: How much of the proceeds will go to the charity?

BOB: The Lip Action balms will retail for $3.49, and $1 from each will go to the Alliance for Climate Protection. We’re essentially giving them all the proceeds.

Q: What were your thoughts when Kiss My Face approached you [Cathy Zoi] to help raise money for the organization?

ZOI: We believe that consumers pay attention to companies on issues like climate change when the companies themselves have made a commitment to making the world a better place. We're very proud to be the beneficiary of this important effort

Q: What would you tell other companies about any hesitancy they might have about “going green?”

ZOI: Kiss My Face and Whole Foods demonstrate that it is possible to both build a successful business and promote sustainability.

Q: What impact do you think Lip Action will have?

ZOI: With ‘Lip Action’ balms Kiss My Face is increasing awareness of the climate crisis, and the Alliance will use the proceeds to communicate with Americans from all walks of life about the urgency and solvability of this crucial issue.
