Black, White, and Red Fashions All Over

fashion-Public_Relations_bl.jpg

As the end of summer is approaching and the intense heat is starting to fade, we all sit and wonder what we’ll be wearing once the fall season rolls around. Year after year, the end of summer always signals a change in fashion as women everywhere pack up their summer clothes and add some layers for cooler weather. Last fall, we saw an emergence of hip-slung belts, hobo bags, and rich hues of teal and purple. This fall, however, the fashion forecast is animal prints, skinny jeans, waist-cinching belts, and basic black, white, and red.

The most flattering of the fall trends is the waist-cinching belt, which we saw on civilians and celebrities alike throughout the summer. The perfect way to fix a waistless shirt or glam up dresses or button-downs, the waist belt works with most body types to create more of an hour-glass figure. On the runways, subtle red appeared to be the new black, and as always, black and white are the key colors to simple and smart dressing.

Many of us will jump on the trend bandwagon, but it’s important to understand that not all trends are for everyone. While animal print can look classy on accessories like belts and shoes, it’s also a trend that can turn trashy when overused…think Fran Drescher’s mom in The Nanny. Skinny jeans are another trend that, although they look great on some people, can have a tendency to make a woman look top-heavy if she is any bigger than Nicole Richie. Personally, I would never get myself into a pair of skinny jeans in fear that I’d actually have to see myself in the mirror. Basically, if you’re skinny, you can work the skinny jeans. If not, don’t worry, there are plenty of other fall trends that won’t make you feel bad about yourself.
