How to get into a celebrity endorsed event... Entertainment Media

Sauza-invite_6.jpg

About a week and a half before Cinco de Mayo 2006, I received an invitation from one of my favorite personal publicists, her client; Jeremy Piven was there to party with all for this joyous holiday. I got right on the phone and RSVPed for myself plus hmmm, I think six should be enough.

I arrive at the door, after shilling out fifteen bucks for parking on Hollywood and Cahuenga and there is an obnoxiously long line. I am a spoiled partier, I never wait in line and I NEVER pay to get in. So, I march myself up to the front and turn on the attitude. I located the person with the VIP list and spoke really quickly and gave a long list of names, who I knew and how I knew Jeremy Piven, to be let in with my three friends. The poor intern at the door who was assigned the worst job for any event looked at me quiet puzzled, nervous and even a little scared. Started flipping through the twelve pages of RSVP’s and finally said, come in. The velvet ropes parted and my friends and I were ushered in to drink free Sauza Tequila and Tecate beer on tap.

If you find yourself on the wrong side of the velvet ropes at an event in LA, be demanding, act like you are somebody in Hollywood and that if you are not treated properly, the person working the door will be fired Monday morning by their boss because you’re so important, you can make that happen.
